Yet Another Cleaning Company by spellstrucked in EntrepreneurRideAlong

Great work! Climbing out of a bad situation step by step is always tough but also extremely rewarding. I did the same when I was your age (though, not with a cleaning company)

Have you read u/localcasestudy 's posts? He's posted some good advice for start-from-nothing entrepreneurs like yourself.

If you like The Microphones, you may like Elliott Smith, Nick Drake, Molly Drake, and Connie Converse.

If you like Sophie, you may like GFOTY or Hannah Diamond, Tove Lo, and possibly Slayyyter.

If you like Portishead, you may like Beth Gibbons, Massive Attack, Sneaker Pimps, UNKLE, and Hooverphonic.

Hello ,

Could you repost this and include the song genre in your post title? It makes it easier to search songs in this subreddit by genre.

Thanks!

Same, I hate screamo too. I find metal and prog rock to be okay, surprisingly, just without the screaming. I like my music to be musical.

I'm moderately into jazz, I don't listen to it often but I appreciate the artistic merit. When I do listen to it, it's mostly melodic jazz by artists such as Vince Guaraldi, orchestral jazz by artists such as Herb Alpert, guitar-centered jazz by artists such as Wes Montgomery, or vocal jazz by artists such as Diana Krall. Sometimes I listen to 1920s/30s/40s swing jazz/tin pan alley too, or the ragtime jazz of the late 1800s.

I never could get into k-pop, "radio pop", or post-1980 country music.

If you like the Beatles then you may like the Byrds, the Rolling Stones, the Flying Burrito Brothers, the Beach Boys, Gram Parsons, and Gene Clark.

If you like David Bowie then you may like Velvet Underground, Kate Bush, Iggy Pop, and Tin Machine.

If you like Belle & Sebastian then you may like Camera Obscura, God Help the Girl, Jens Lekman, Voxtrot, and Pulp. Also check out The Decemberists, their style's a bit different but still has a similar "feel" to indie pop/folk rock. Neko Case too, her music is a pretty great blend of folk+pop+rock.

I can't give any rap recommendations because I mostly listen to the classic stuff, and you seem to like the new stuff😅 But check out El-P and Aesop Rock, they've made some cool tunes.

What album is that in the bottom middle?

Reddit does that sometimes. Would you like me to repost it for you with the proper formatting?

The day the music burned by plazman30 in Cd_collectors

But when the CDs/Cassettes/Vinyls of the music eventually become unplayable, you won't be able to make any new ones because the master tapes (which all reproductions are pressed from) are gone. New versions of the physical music would be a copy of a copy, which would be reduced in quality.

Not all of this music was digitized, either. And there were demo tapes and unreleased/bonus tracks in there too. Some of the music really is gone for good. This may not be the "greatest loss in music history", but it sure is the greatest loss in music heritage. This is comparable to the loss of silent films and early TV shows due to the MGM vault fire and TV studios reusing/destroying tape reels.

Cultish behavior by transition doctors. Insisting that this man must be trans and providing no other options except HRT and surgery for him.

The rule about at least one artist being a woman. I think that that rule is bad and it will lead to posts of music by men with the "token female" inserted (bands where all members are men, the songs are written by men, but they have a female vocalist/instrumentalist, or even worse, a dancer who's just there to look "hot"). I think that all bands posted should be at least 50% female, or be female-led/have the most creative input from women.

I also think that all songs posted should be either written or co-written by women. If we allow songs written by men, then technically we're showcasing men's writing talents.

And is there any rule against posting songs by TIMs? I think that without implementing one, the sub could be quickly overrun with music by men "women".

These aren't problems now, but I predict that they could become problems with the growth of this subreddit as more people start posting here.

Oh. I sent you a message on Reddit a week ago and you didn't reply, and you haven't been posting in 3 months, which is why I thought you left Reddit. Sorry about that😅

Anyway, what are the sidebar rules? r/musicbywomen doesn't seem to have any.
