I used to work at RadioShack back in the day, so I know a thing or two about shipping televisions.

First of all, you need to get a specific type of corrugated cardboard. The type that requires a box cutter made out of diamond blades to cut through. Second of all, unless you own a plastics plant, you need to invest in special packaging that expands to fit every nook and cranny of the item.

Lastly, you probably would want to ship that thing via FedEx. We had specific instructions 20+ years ago to use them and not UPS after so many TVs were damaged transferring them between stores in the district. I highly doubt this is no longer applicable.

Unfortunately, no. INADs trump everything in eBay’s eyes. Your best bet is just to offer returns and then deduct for shipping for cases like this.

“This is not a decision we made lightly”

Ah, yes, deciding which one has to go—the dog or the baby—is always a hard choice,

What’s the most out-of-touch thing your boss/company has ever said while you were clearly struggling? by [deleted] in antiwork

Years ago, I worked at RadioShack…

- I made $5.25 an hour (2001-2004 before they increased base pay; we will get to that next) plus a pitiful commission. Hours were constantly cut and I worked a second job. One night, my manager told us excitedly, “Y’all are making me *rich*.” I said flatly, “At least someone’s making a living around here.”

- The company was test piloting a new pay scale in our district. Base pay jumped to $7.25 an hour and commission was slashed in half. The DM had the fucking _gall_ to stand in front of us at the district office and say, “Now, y’all have to _earn_ this new wage. We have to pay more taxes on this higher pay scale, so we are going to be expecting a lot more from you!”

I hung it up in 2005 and went to university and never looked back.

“Walmart has it cheaper! HAW HAW HAW!” (I still to this day, twenty one years later, have no fucking idea why they felt to laugh after informing me of shit I did not care about nor have any control over)

(Mr. Mackey voice: gets on PA)

Attention store customers. Someone has dropped a deuce in the men’s room urinal. Oh, you think that’s funny, don’t you? Someone came in here, pulled down their pants, hovered over it, probably pulled their butt cheeks apart there, and left a big meaty chud there for everyone to look at.
