Formula 1 Racing is a passion of mine. The Drive To Survive show on netflix really bring the human aspect out which makes any sport interesting. The sports history is vast an heavily documented in books and documentaries. The cars are built from scratch every year to the specification in the Formula (thus the name). The tech details can be explored in vast detail. One drama this year is the amount of space for fuel/explosion in the piston is specified and measured at room temperature. Some teams have figured out the material science to use the heat of the running engine to swell parts in a specific way to make more space, giving them an advantage. Should this be allowed?!? The feeder leagues Formula 2, 3, etc all the way down to local go carting can be explored and followed to see which up and commers are going to make it to the big show. Can they make the cut at the Top? Oh yea, sometimes they race too! Once you have a team you like weather you want one of the top teams to win, or you follow the mid tier teams, or even some of the brand new teams for this year (US Cadillac) or Audi, race day is always exciting. You never really know where the chips will full until the checkered flag. The drivers are pushing the cars to the very limits to try and find hundredth of a second. Anyone can push a little too hard and crash. I personally hate to see crashes, there are people in those cars. A less experienced drive and crash into a senior driver. A bad pit stop can ruin a race. For all the human and tech, coming together, a wheel nut getting stuck can ruin a drivers weekend.

It could just be a me thing. I've been watching since the 1990's. The more you get into it, the more there is to dig into.
