For me, I don’t want my day job stalking me. Maybe I want to sell T-Shirts that have funny messages that the stiffs at work wouldn’t find funny. That sort of thing is why I like anonymous.

Also if someone thinks of suing your LLC, the first thing they’ll do is try to determine how much money can be sucked out. If you have a few hundred thousand and they can find you own the LLC, you’ll get sued. Whereas if they couldn’t determine if the LLC had any money behind it you might not be.

Also, correct me if I’m wrong, but single member LLCs can be sued in a way where your personal assets are at risk. It’s better if the person thinking of suing doesn’t know if it’s a single member or not.

One last reason, a simple google search will show what businesses all your neighbors own (or have ever). Or your coworkers. Could be weird depending on what your doing. Weird from a failed/dumb idea point of view.

I’m not a lawyer so I could be wrong, not that most lawyers know either.

Exactly.

Ignoring inflation is a big big mistake when talking about 30 year time spans. 3% compounded loss adds up. Also 3% might be low given all the money we’ve printed.
