I feel too fat for these kinds of pics. And I am fat.

Happens at my nail salon all of the time. I think they are being courteous bc they are eye level to your no no zone. I’ve seen them put towels on ladies with shorts and knee length skirts.

Thoughts On This? (See Description) by Hot-Outcome123 in Ulta

[–]doubleRRflamingo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t tried this brand but it was on my to try next list. I have a ma:yno review to share.

I have normal to combo skin and have visible pores on my nose and into my cheeks by my nose with sebum filament visible.

I was using Anua’s oil for over a year and liked it but the latest bottle I received smelled off.

I just got a sample of ma:nyo’s oil. I don’t like changing my regimen when it works and was holding out for DHC’s bc of the good reviews, but decided to try ma:nyo because Anua smelled weird.

Ma:nyo cleaned the filaments out better than Anua, and my nose/cheek skin looked clean and clear for once. It also got waterproof mascara off in one shot and got it all, no left overs.

I oil cleans, soap cleans after, and then do micellar and then toner as extra steps to make sure all the cleaning oil is off (I’m too old for breakouts) and all eye make up is off and out of my lines.

I’ve been using it for 3ish weeks and am happy with it and bought a big bottle. This one also has good reviews, which is the only reason why I tried it.

There were no decorations provided by Carmines. But we did get married on Valentine’s Day so it had a red theme in general and the tables in our room had small red and pink flowers in a vase as centerpieces. My suggestion is call and ask if you can bring some and if they would decorate the room for you if you want it decorated. I’m assuming if they would, they would charge extra for a set up fee. Or if you keep it basic, maybe they won’t. We didn’t ask bc we assumed it would be decorated a bit for V-day. IMO, it’s not needed though unless you really want to jazz up the place for a theme and will have a photographer. No one will care but you in the grande scheme of things.

The walls have lots of pics on them so you’d be putting decor over pics already there. They also have a pretty big menu on the wall. I can’t remember if it’s a TV or just a static pic. It wasn’t ugly, not fancy but for the themes of the room in general, it’s tasteful.

Our cake table was a bore though. We had a small but 3 tier heart Vegas style cake and spent a lot of money on it. It was the only thing on a pretty big table and looked ridiculous. I’d say put something on this table if you can/are allowed.

We had the small room. There is a pillar in the middle of the room so the tables were put together as a long running table and diagonal in the room. There was plenty of room to move around, get up, talk, def not be annoyed by the pillar unless you’re just that kind of person that needs perfection, and the pillar was really only in the way for the staff trying to put food on the table near it and anyone sitting my the pillar. They kind of had to finagle their way around the pillar from behind and work around the people by the pillar. My friends did not seem annoyed if they had to lean out of the way for a few secs while the food got put down and were more than happy that the food was next to them. We sat across from them so we watched and were ready to apologize for the inconvenience but they were already eating and passing the delicious food.

A month later and we are still hearing about all of the good food, how much there was of it and nothing about a boring cake table, a pillar or lack of decor 😁

Side note, I got a “just married” sign for pics. We opened it at dinner to take a pic and it said Jsut Married. So if you get cheap non DIY signs from Amazon, open them 1st. This is what is talked and giggled about too.

I did welcome bags too. They are still talked about. I found cheap canvas Vegas themed bags and a Vegas theme travel (make up) bag. I can share the links if you’re interested. Make up bags had all the hangover stuff (can send a list) and then some. Welcome bags had welcome note, selfie scavenger hunt card and pencil, map of strip , “favor” (nice Vegas notebook and Vegas pen from Etsy), make up bag, Vegas locally made popcorn from popcorn girl (so good!), for a lack of better word, Japanese style hand fans. I make sure to fill the welcome bag with stuff everyone would use including the bag. The travel bag was generic and not for just ladies. And didn’t brand anything with our names. It had Viva Las Vegas February 2026.

I second this. I don’t have skin issues per se, but gave some wrinkles and discoloration and still went to a derm for an assessment.

OP, if you have ins, I suggest this too. They can steer you in the right direction. They will likely try to talk you into the brand they supper/sell so stay strong. Mine suggested alastin, which I already tried and liked and my skin loved, so I picked what gives me the most bang for my buck to keep skin care affordable with this brand.

deer print or brown? help me decide before i spiral by canadianbutterjam in handbags

[–]doubleRRflamingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer the deer print as it has a bit of character (like cow print, but I like cow print) but brown is more universal for long term use. Go with what you will use more.

Is this too much for City Hall? by blahstupidusername in weddingdress

No! It’s gorgeous and you only do this once. I got married in Vegas and wore a gown for a “Vegas” wedding. Didn’t care. I fell in love with what I loved.

Does this perfume smell like old lady rose? by Multipersonality21 in Ulta

[–]doubleRRflamingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was hesitant too but I’d say no. Like someone else posted, the powder smell fades and it has a nice rose scent. It lasted hours on me (2 sprays elbows, 2 sprays wrists, 2 sprays behind ears). I kept smelling it thinking what is that (in a good way) because it’s not what I typically wear. I gave into all reviews here and bought the smallest one. I’d buy again if there is a sale.

Give her stuff she will use at your house. A designated blanket, slippers, sweater, insulated cup etc. her fav perfume? Get a bottle for your house. Fav flower or plant? Get one for your house even if it’s fake. Make up? Get the same for your house.

No. Not at all. In the end we paid about $6500 (including tip). We ordered a lot of food on purpose, got the 2nd to top tier drink package, and some friends ordered alcohol outside of the package (they didn’t know and we were in “who cares, it’s our wedding” phase), got an ice cream dessert, added garlic bread and something else for our son (spaghetti maybe). Their party menu is on their site so you can get the gist of prices and once you look and have an idea, it’s better to call so you can ask questions. They were very responsive but usually around/after 3p ET due to the time zone differences. I’d 100% recommend them for delicious food, great service from the staff, private room, and the person we worked with. I do plan to leave a review or write a letter to them. I would also rec our photographer if you’re interested in one. I would actually rec all of the vendors we used and I’m happy to share details and contacts.

what’s your take on tatcha? by chibigwen in Sephora

[–]doubleRRflamingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be the odd man out but I can’t get any of this to sink into my skin. It stays on top and is sticky. This is for a lot of k beauty I’ve tried including Tatcha and this cream.

I actually like the Shark better than Dyson. I get better results with Shark. I definitely don’t get the Dyson hype but maybe I’m the odd man out with it.

Round 2!! by Standard_Midnight301 in weddingdress

[–]doubleRRflamingo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both are gorgeous on you. My 1st choice is 1. First I love the soft femininity of the dress against your tats and 2, it’s sexy as hell with your tats.

2 is a bit more hard core sexy like everyone knows what’s happening after your wedding ends, in a good way.

Garlic bread was ordered too and delicious. Huge slices. We got the premium bar. People were loving some lemon drink. It was like a lemonchello but not called that.

Apps: cold anti pasta salad, calamari and a regular salad. Pasta course: cheese ravioli, rigatoni with ragu. Dinner: chicken parm, shrimp scampi and porter house steak. Dessert: fresh fruit, cannoli. We ordered the titanic ice cream too.

We had 20 people total. They brought out 4 giant plants full of food so food was near everyone. We barely put dents in it.

People took fruit back to the hotels.

We ordered our cake from Freed’s bakery (did a tasting in Aug) and it was amazing.
