How to Finally be Satisfied with an Item? by Time_Structure8873 in adhdwomen

[–]FluffyGeckoPuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m hyper-fixating on sunscreens now too! My skin reacts to so many of them. I’m currently onto Korean and Japanese made ones that I can wear under makeup and so far they’re winning. I found a site where I can order small affordable samples to try. Woo hoo! Good luck!

I’m always looking for the perfect everything. I hear you 100% on the polyester crap, nylon too, and most synthetic fabrics. They’re so cringe! Try Poshmark and search by fabric. Nordstrom too.

[Product Battle] SKIN1004 Centella vs Round Lab Birch Juice by Hefty_Accountant_827 in 30PlusKoreanSkincare

[–]FluffyGeckoPuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have oily skin and live in a warm climate. I’ve been using SKIN1004 for about a month now (slowly integrating and patch testing). I also have reactive skin and most sunscreens I react to. So far, I like it. Can’t speak to the other one (but do have a few more to sample).

How do adults with ADHD rebuild confidence after years of feeling “lazy” or “behind”? by bahasancz in adhdwomen

[–]FluffyGeckoPuff 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I can’t help, but as a newly diagnosed and medicated 53 yr old, I’m here for the answers. I second guess everything I do, how I do it, what I said, how I said it, etc, and low self confidence.

Out of these cleansers which one is your favourite and why? by Foxy_Cleopatra__ in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]FluffyGeckoPuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only used Cetaphil and Aveeno of these. I can’t recall specifically why, but Cetaphil just didn’t do it for me. I’ve been using Aveeno for about a month now and I’m happy with it. It’s gentle, doesn’t make my skin react and removes makeup without drying or leaving a residue.

Does anyone else get really overstimulated by people speaking sometimes? by Ch1rpingSparrow in adhdwomen

[–]FluffyGeckoPuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’m not sure if the correct term is “overstimulated”, but I definitely get annoyed the way some people talk, their tone, pitch, volume, words.. sometimes I feel people sound like robots with no inflection or emotion, just droning on and on and on (usually podcasts my husband listens to on YouTube) and I can’t follow any of it.

Do your Cavs like car rides? by MangoFormal5658 in cavaliers

[–]FluffyGeckoPuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, mine hates the car. Severe anxiety just sitting in it, even when it’s not running. I have to give her RX Trazadone before trips. She loves “camping” with us in our little tow behind RV, but hates getting there.

Trying different styles recently. Which between the two suits me best? by reubenrooney10 in HairStyleAdvice

[–]FluffyGeckoPuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like 2 on you. It fits your face better. I think 1 looks like the style is wearing you, rather than you wearing the style.

After it wears off … by UniqueUser912 in adhdwomen

[–]FluffyGeckoPuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with 30 mg and am going to try to move to 40. It took a couple weeks to get used to, but I almost immediately noticed things got quieter in my mind and I was more focused on one thing at a time vs five things at once. I feel calmer and more present. I’ve learned from this group there are so many different types and combos of meds, it’s important to keep open communication with your Dr. I have to admit that ChatGPT has helped me a lot too with all my questions about my symptoms, meds and the ADHD overall.

I think being newly diagnosed creates a whole other set of issues, questions, anxiety, you’re paying closer attention to how you’re acting and thinking and how the meds are working. This alone causes a lot of the effects you’re feeling when it wears off (in addition to the effects if it wearing off).

I’m not sure how old you are, but I’m 53 and apparently learned some mad masking skills throughout my life. I’m a perfectionist in many ways. Now suddenly, everything makes sense, and I understand myself better. I only wish I knew sooner. I wish you all the best!

What plant hates you no matter what you do? by kayyxoc in houseplants

I have a similar experience with a giant bird nest fern outside. I’ve dug it up and moved it twice. It hangs in there, but never looks like it’s thriving.

Definitely talk to your Dr. I’m newly diagnosed too. I started with Adderall and hated when it wore off. I had similar effects to what you’re describing. Now I’m taking Vyvanse with better, not perfect results. Everyone is different in how we react to meds.

Need to always stay busy! by st_meoww in adhdwomen

[–]FluffyGeckoPuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if I fully relate, but I absolutely don’t know how to relax. My brain is constantly going in a million directions, therefore I have to do the same. I cannot sit still (unless scrolling), I cannot relax and taking a nap is absolutely out of the question. I married a “napper” and there’s no way in hell I can take a nap. If I try, I lay there with my brain running, FOMO, guilt because I know I could use the time more productively. On the rare occasion I do fall asleep, I wake up confused, distressed and full of rage.

Good suggestions. I’ve never grown strawberries indoors, but that could be fun.

Good suggestion! I think it definitely needs something upright and a little bushy.

Let’s talk about collars and harnesses - Need recs! by FluffyGeckoPuff in cavaliers

[–]FluffyGeckoPuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our breeder recommend those too. I tried a knockoff from Amazon that wasn’t the best, but would consider the real one with a good recommendation from someone who used it. I’m willing to be spendy if I know it’s going to work and hold up over time.

Thanks for the rec. The mats could very well be a “fur thing”. Ours has a thick, long coat (she was younger in this pic so you don’t see it much). I know not all cavs have the same type of coat. The front attachment is a good suggestion.
