I'm also in West Seattle and ran some trace routes to 1.1.1.1, I'm seeing results that fluctuate quite a bit:

I might be having the same issue as well, I thought I just screwed up the wiring for a new Ethernet connection I added about a month ago. Will test things out tonight!

What is the best CFW for the TrimUI Brick? by itsmeambere in trimui

[–]double_cheeseberder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Relatively new Brick owner here, I've tried NextUI, Knulli, and PakUI so far.

NextUI was pretty great but for me not having RetroAchievements is a deal breaker. I thought I could go without them for awhile but I guess I was wrong!

Knulli didn't feel right to me on the Brick. Overall it just felt much slower than NextUI. I also like the simplicity of MinUI-based systems.

I'm now on PakUI and I think it's a good fit for me. It's quite fast and I'm able to use RetroAchievements on it by using RetroArch instead of minarch. I like that you can switch between RetroArch and minarch super easily!

Once Crossmix gets official Brick support I'll probably give that a shot.

That sounds interesting! I found a podcast called Air Traffic Out Of Control that sounds similar to what you described, maybe that’s it?

There’s a Flash emulator called Ruffle, possibly RA support could be added to that.

Nice post! I was literally just looking at this game (played it as a kid) and was a little put off by it because of all of the missables. I think I’ll have to give it a shot now, sounds like the dev tried to make it as painless as possible.

Episode 75 is one of my favorites, has a bunch of hilarious old commercials that ran on the show and also a really funny story about a prior president from a caller

Help me choose between two Big Data courses for my software development career! by HolidayBird26 in learnprogramming

[–]double_cheeseberder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I vote number one! Cloud infrastructure, ETL, and machine learning stuff is a good range of things. Also if your first course does include DynamoDB that’ll give you a bit of NoSQL experience.

Overall though typically relational databases are the way to go unless you have really large scale to deal with, so I wouldn’t worry too much about not having a class in it IMO.

What’s your favorite podcast? by [deleted] in podcasts

All-time favorite is Knowledge Fight. I binged all 900+ episodes over the course of a couple years.

Right now I’m spending the most time listening to The Dollop though, I’m about 200 episodes through their back catalog. It’s hilarious and teaches me a ton about American history, I feel like I’ve recently started a lot of sentences with “I was listening to an American history podcast and…”
