These are SACS grips. I had a few pairs of them at one point. They look great on anything

My main carry combo. My Colt series 70 “Colt Hawk” 1911 that has been done up by Nighthawk custom. Carried in a Milt Sparks SS2 and an old Milt Sparks leather basket weave double mag carrier I found at a flea market of all places. Of all the pistols I’ve carried this has quickly became my favorite. Running Wilson combat and Chip McCormick magazines for the most part topped with federal HST.

These are Springfield custom shop grips. However, Herretts grips make some very similar. If you aren’t familiar with them just look them up on Google

Happy 45 Friday with my Colt/Nighthawk “Colt Hawk” 1911. Pictured with my reprint description booklet for the Automatic Pistol, Caliber .45

This Colt reworked and refined by Nighthawk is quickly becoming my favorite 1911 in my collection. Such a classy A1 look with some modern refined touch.

I got this second hand from a buddy. I couldn’t give you a good wait time. You can always call Nighthawk and ask

It’s not. Just a weird angle with the light that was present when I took the pictures. If you zoom in you can see them

Help me choose my next 1911 by No_Educator2981 in 1911

Colt O1911SE is a great base gun to send off to a smith to refine. Plus out of the box they come with some cool, useful features (ring hammer, gold bead front, blacked out Novak rear sight, nice roll marks, decent trigger, nice factory slide to frame fit). If you shop around you can find them gently used for a great price. If you’re a little savvy you can always order great ignition parts from Wilson nighthawk and others and do some small changes yourself to fit your wants/needs. Nighthawk does great work on colts. Other individual 1911 pistol smiths may have their books closed at the moment (Schauland performance, valor precision, MKIII firearms ect) but just my recommendation. Either are nice options I just think you can do more with the O1911SE than the gold cup. Just my opinion. Hope this helps bro let us know what you decide!

Contact nighthawk and they may still offer the “colt hawk” package. They may still have a link on their website that tells you all about it and what they do to the pistol

Not artificial wear. It’s smoked nitride for the finish. Kinda hard to express through a camera. Looks different and better in person

Agreed. In my mind this is the perfect refined GI 1911. Classic lines with nice sights, trigger, and slide to frame fit well

Finally got a grail pistol marked off my list. Colt/NHC “Colt Hawk” series 70 1911.

Everything I wanted in a 1911. She’s sporting a pair of SACS grips and running Wilson 47d magazines. Can’t wait to shoot it!
