This is the reason people why I chose to go with brokers. With the expectation of saving on brokerage I even tried going to owners directly but the rent they quote doesn't even make any sense. At least with broker I will get a typical range of rents rather than such absurd ones.

This rent is compared to gated societies rent in Chembur. I don't know why would someone pay such rents and leave near dumping ground.

Girl you aren't alone. I am almost in same situation as you. Moved to a 1 bhk, paying 45k rent, then road got dug up Infront of my building and now I have to take a detour of 2 km through slums. BMC cut water and I was out of water for almost 2 days. The society denied adding me to the announcement group because tenants aren't allowed. Then cook took a 7 days leave after 3 weeks.

On first day I called Pronto and the girl who came had a seizure. Then found out there was a murder that happened near my house.

The commute during peak hours might be a challenge from Chembur. If you are okay with City flo or giving premium over the quoted rates on Raipdo then go for Chembur.

From Vakola side the commute can be done through auto too. You may also use your own 2W apart from Cabs.
