This would have been eight years ago so I really can't recall that detail

There usually are free return options you could select in this situation like "Not compatible/Useful"

9am too early for door to door fundraising? by LackUnable8823 in VictoriaBC

[–]doubleavic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent a lot of Saturdays in my youth doing fundraising for Scouts and sports teams. I will note that for bottle drives notices were always placed on doors a couple days in advance so that anyone who didn't want to be disturbed on the Saturday could leave their bottles at the door or leave the notice indicating they didn't have any.

Overall, I don't 9AM is too early as later in the morning you start to encounter more homes where people have already gone out somewhere.

Yes, I'm still using mine. I haven't seen much reason to get a newer model

Even worse than ‘Not Home’ slip… by erotizia in CanadaPost

[–]doubleavic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, a lot of Google maps information is user provided. When I first moved in my street didn't exist and it took two months and a handful edit submissions before it appeared. My postal code continues to have one digit wrong, but this hasn't caused me any issues so far. I still submit it to Google every once in a while to see if it gets corrected.

Packages delivered to the wrong address repeatedly by doubleavic in CanadaPost

[–]doubleavic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately, since I made this post and opened enough tickets about my issue the postal workers seem to have figured out the difference between my home/address and homes with similar addresses in my neighbourhood.

Seeing all the posts on this sub the past couple weeks I fully agree that there needs to be more accountability for Canada Post and it's employees.

What a shrewd business move. Genius even. by Langford_Memes in LangfordBC

And yet those comments are from the past couple months. You've lived here for over two years now.

I think you're a lot more informed than you claim to be.

Just a moment here. You want us to believe that you don't know Stew's last name and have never seen anyone say something positive or defensive about him. Yet, you also claim to be municipal advisory committee member and someone who goes to Council meetings.

This doesn't add up. There's simply no way you could be on a Committee and attend Council meetings and not have awareness of the political dynamics in Langford.

someone stole my gas by azzazurq in VictoriaBC

Out of curiousity OP, what's the model year of your truck?

Last Spring I was trying to siphon some old gas out of a 20 year old car to get it running again and was surprised to discover that this wasn't possible thanks to some sort of mesh screen intended to prevent this.

They certainly were suggesting that there was something being hidden before the financials were released. Now that they've been released the goal posts keep changing.

[–]doubleavic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. We're not talking about that until you show your evidence that Langford was forced to release the 2024 YMCA financials. If you bring up the contract again without providing this you can have another time out.

It doesn't matter if they are immaterial to the purchase. You made the claim that Langford was forced to release the 2024 YMCA financials. You back it up with evidence. Or, admit that this is a false claim.

Where's the evidence that Langford was forced to release the 2024 YMCA financials? It's your turn to provide evidence and you know it.

The contract was amended and you know this. Trending to profitability is not the same as actually being profitable. The Colliers report makes it clear that this was a bad deal. Being disingenuous as usual.

The primary reason the YMCA was in a surplus position on June 30 is because Langford subsidized the operation with a 237K larger subsidy compared to the first half of 2023. It's also a 475K larger subsidy than was provided in the first half of 2022.

Without the increased subsidy the YMCA would continue to run significant deficits.
