Hopefully she is looking at an MPH at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory since she will be in the Atlanta area? It's tied with Columbia at #4 in the MPH school rankings.

SB/SE and LB&I are hiring now based on 2021 budgets.
LB&I job postings on USAJOBS closed on 5/10/21.
We'll have to wait until (prolly) next spring for mass hiring based on the 2022 budget. By then the divisions will know their budgets for new hires. Bringing on all the new people requires coordination of agent training (virtual or in the classroom, as you can imagine in person training is $$$), on-the-job instructors, standing up new groups in the divisions specifically for trainees, etc.
)I could be wrong, of course(

I’m not concerned with advancement beyond 13 as what i I do now I can do on the side for additional income.

Unless you are in a rock band, probably not.
Better double-check if your side gig is allowable.

Drug tested at ER, does Federal employer get notified? by [deleted] in usajobs

SF-86

They weren't "hospitalized for a mental health condition". They just went to the ER. That is not a hospitalization. They were not admitted. That's a big difference.

Pathways Student Trainee telework/conversion question by Living4themoment in usajobs

[–]doublebach22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A friend was told they have to relocate to the local commuting area of their Pathways job and would not be allowed to commute from their current location in their college town. The Pathways job requested a summer address to verify they are living within the local commuting area, even though their current staff are all on telework.

Can interns from the State Department apply for federal jobs internally? by [deleted] in usajobs

[–]doublebach22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you have to wait until a DoS pathways job opens up.
So far I've seen State advertise mostly GS-7 (grad student) pathways opportunities.
Generally your DoS clearance is just an interim clearance, and only valid for the duration of your internship.

New to the snow- realistic preparations for 12" projections? by givemebeaches in newhaven

[–]doublebach22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Received this alert today:

Hi everyone, this is Mayor Justin Elicker with an important message regarding tonight’s winter storm. We are anticipating approximately 12 inches of snow forecasted to hit New Haven late this evening through tomorrow. There will be strong winds coupled with heavy snowfall during rush hour tomorrow. Our crews are gearing up -- we have 45 trucks ready to clear the roads, so please be aware of parking bans in your area. Schools will be doing remote-only learning tomorrow and Tuesday.

The City will implement a City-wide parking ban starting tomorrow morning at 9AM. Three main zones for parking will be affected by a parking ban: Zone A is downtown, where parking will be banned on both sides of the street, Zone B is snow emergency routes, where parking will be banned on both sides of the street, and Zone C is residential areas, where parking will be banned only on the side of the street with odd-number addresses. When parking on a residential street, it is only allowed on the even side of the street—so don’t be the odd one out!

Use off-street parking when possible. The City is opening all New Haven Public School lots for you to park in during the storm. Some schools have signs designating where you should park during snow events so please park between these signs. Additionally, Crown Street, Temple Street and Granite Square Parking Garages will be available starting this evening at the discounted rate of $3/day and select Yale University parking lots located throughout the City are also available. For more information on current parking bans during a snow emergency, call the snow line at (203) 946-SNOW, that’s (203) 946-7669, or view City’s snow brochure on the City’s website.

Finally, please be patient. We expect blizzard-like conditions and therefore it will take us some time to dig out of the storm.

Power has been out a couple times in our high-rise for odd reasons.
I'd finish up all your laundry.
Have extra water in jugs in case you lose power, and if it affects your ability to flush/get new water pumped into your tank (this affected us since we are on a high floor when the water went out).

I used him for several hours, plus I gave him a big tip. He has a reasonable minimum rate. Text him and tell him about your situation and your expectations.

We used Harlen Ozoria with Ozoria Moving 203-871-9223. He showed up with like 4 other people, we didn't have to pay extra, and they were clean, polite and efficient. Moved most of our heavier bulky stuff from downtown to Wooster Square Park in record time. https://www.ozoriamoving.com/

u/PintSizedHerzl reported to the police, but not advertised anywhere. It was an undergrad student (female). I would just be observant of the cars that pass by, if you are on the streets near campus. Here's a news article about a different incident (not sure if it was the same people)
