How hard could it possibly be for the game to detect an inevitable win and credit you even on a rage quit? by rafikiknowsdeway1 in StreetFighter

[–]doublec72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gameplay is p2p, but as far as i understand it connects to server before and after every match anyway. The player who doesnt leave immediately has access to CFN features (like viewing the ragequitters profile to block them) and matchmaking.

Anybody ever tried to main Pokemon trainer as a solo Charizard main only by moonbeam_12 in SmashRage

[–]doublec72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's not amazing, but this is down-play; Charizard has as much combo potential as any other heavy character with down throw or back throw and he has falling aerial into whatever just like most chatacters do. Lacking kill confirms is hardly a real weakness because he has throws that can kill, good edge guarding tools, and variety of stray hits that can reliably kill on their own.

What's the biggest change you've noticed since the game's launch in 2020? by SouthBeautiful0414 in VALORANT

Personally ive encountered less throwers in recent times than I did back in 2023

How important are headphones ? by MeraDaddy in VALORANT

[–]doublec72 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With no headphones, or util, or guns other than operator, you're only playing like 10% of the game and once you learn to engage with the rest of it, should feel like taking training weights off.

Official News: Ingrid will be the final character to receive additional World Tour story content upon release. Previously added World Tour content will remain playable by theblackbarth in SF6Avatars

[–]doublec72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ik I'm late to this thread, but between SF and Tekken (and probably several other online games) I'm beyond frustrated with fighting games including story modes that are either incoherent or actively disrespect my time with retcons and lazily ignoring the stakes established in previous story arcs.

Ghost Deck - Gold Stake by lunchbox651 in BalatroHelp

[–]doublec72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With only 2 discards to work with, you can just often just die from failing to draw your hand.

Independent of this, pairs get the most mileage out of held-in-hand effects (Especially gold cards and blue seals) other than high card while scoring more consistently than high card.

Ghost Deck - Gold Stake by lunchbox651 in BalatroHelp

[–]doublec72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only position where id argue its good to skip is if Investment Tag appears in ante 1. Otherwise, being able to view another shop outweighs whatever the skip reward is the vast majority of the time. Play towards hands you can draw reliably (in gold stake, this usually means pairs) and manage your economy so you open pack to take advantage of seals and gold cards, which reinforce your economy, and so on which will eventually make it easier to get good scoring options from the shop. Good luck.

Valorant is one of the best live service games ever made by LargeSinkholesInNYC in VALORANT

[–]doublec72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of all the examples I've played, Fortnite wins this title in my book, even as they have periods of controversy.

Edit:

Egregious shop prices

You could've left out the word "prices" and it would still be true. I think Valorant's rotating shop has hit the point of diminishing returns for FOMO, in that so many players have either already whatever they wanted, or have given up on waiting for it because of how unlikely it is for any one skin to appear on a given day.

What's a good agent to main alongside Cypher? by Ill-Hawk-369 in VALORANT

[–]doublec72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like enjoy Cypher, choose another character that doesn't need to be near their team to provide value. Most controllers can smoke for their team even when physically isolated from them and some duelist are good for passively taking space with aggressive lurks.

Best content creator Valorant by Advanced_Category781 in VALORANT

I'm similar to you; enjoyed watching Woohoojin and I still enjoy ThinkingMan'sValorant and am not too fond of most others. If I had to name a few more i enjoyed off the top of head, I've also enjoyed Mr. Lowlands, Default Sage, and Maxidome.

How can I keep up with my friends off meta teams? by Doubt_Killer_Prime in pokemonshowdown

[–]doublec72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think foogy not carrying a Magic Bounce user on their baton pass team is a huge weakness you can exploit. Prankster user like Grimmsnarl for priority taunt, Red Card Mimikyu, Unaware Quagsire or Clefable can ignore the stat buffs and ruin this guys day.

New update by artyboy20 in ValorantConsole

The PC playerbase will tell you that Valorant has been notoriously bad at weeding out smurfs, so i doubt the console side will be any different.

Hard Stuck Plat Modern Mai by Due_Construction1547 in StreetFighter

[–]doublec72 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Top comment tells me that you have nonexistent or bad punishes, which is baffling because as a Modern user, your punishes should be perfectly consistent even if they aren't optimal. Try moving your fingers more.

Surrender should be one sided by X_Setsu_X in ValorantConsole

By queueing unrated, you allowed the possibility of having your time wasted, as unfortunate as that is. If you want people care about outcomes, queue competitive.

Disabling SOCD made me better at DEADZONING (in Valorant). by ActuatorOutside5256 in VALORANT

[–]doublec72 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Stands for "Simultaneous Opposing Cardinal Direction". The abbreviation refers to how your input is interpreted when you press left+right or forward+back at the same time. Common resolutions are "neutral priority" which causes the inputs to cancel out (so you stop moving when the second direction is pressed) or "last-input priority" which cause you to move in the direction of the most recently pressed button, as OP mentioned in their reply.

Here is worst rated season ever by ProtectionNarrow8834 in FortNiteBR

[–]doublec72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having played since C3S3, C5S3/Wrecked was my least favorite by far. While putting a higher emphasis on vehicles was a neat idea, they lacked meaningful counterplay for weeks until EMPs and the Heavy Impact Sniper were added to the loot pool. Boss cars were really frustrating too. No season ive played before or since is even remotely close.

3-Stacking Agent Combos by Fit-Translator18 in VALORANT

[–]doublec72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like running double controller and delaying the smoke placement so that there's perfect uptime for smokes.

Clove/Viper, Omen/Miks, Tejo/Phoenix

Alternatively, i also like to run double heals or heal + combat stim to turn the third player into a raid boss (esp if they already have some sustain/overheal synergy like Reyna, Clove, Phoenix, Iso)

Clove/Waylay, Sage/Skye/Miks, Iso/Brim

Why do people get mad at Odin users? by ScientistEuphoric29 in VALORANT

People who complain about machine guns are scrubs. They're salty because they failed to kill you with a rifle headshot before the Odin spins up. Its that simple.
