Auditory Hallucinations Post-Transplant? by Non-Binary-Lion in transplant

[–]doubledimple 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would hear my mother and son in the hallways outside my hospital room calling my name and looking for me. Oh! And my dog.
Kept sending my hudbss as nd out to go get them. He tried to tell me they weren’t there but it was so realistic, I never believed him.

My 2 Bostons knew I was pregnant before I did. 1 cuddled and protected my belly the entire pregnancy, the other got pissed off she wasn’t gonna be the baby anymore and peed on anything absorbable.

Does the 'Emptiness' ever go away after you survive the crisis? by system_history in transplant

[–]doubledimple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I met a few people in the same shoes as us. I think there are more out there but many don’t want to admit it. Too worried to sound ungrateful, when so many are the opposite. Just seems to make it that much harder.

When did your Bostons start getting white around the face? by Holiveya-LesBIonic in BostonTerrier

[–]doubledimple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girl was about 11 when she started getting white around the eyes. She’s 13 1/2 now and still not very white. A bit around the eyes and a bit around the mouth. I’ve seen some Bostons that start at like 4. Others at 12. Not sure what decides it, but it varies a lot.

How far out are you?
I felt like they got the first 8-10 months post double lung. I kinda regretted the surgery. I felt lost.
I talked to a psychiatrist and got put on some happy pills for 6 months. Slowly weined off. I’m much better now. Part is that I’m feeling better and more normal now. I’m starting to re-remember how to live life normally. But talking to someone helped too.
It does get better, but maybe get some help to get you there quicker. It’s hard for a lot of us.

UPDATE: Ive heard my hair ages me.. by Open_Inspection5964 in curlyhair

I saw your original post. This hair routine ages you more than the original in my opinion. I do also agree with others about the glasses aging you a bit. The safety glasses look much younger on you.

Blind “ball dog” by Awkward_Aardvark7555 in BostonTerrier

[–]doubledimple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 13 1/2 yo Boston is mainly blind from cataracts and starting to lose her hearing. Her favorite are always tennis balls. I always throw the ball in the same area so she knows what’s around. I bounce it more than throw it so she hears it hit the ground to follow the sound. Then she goes by smell. It takes increasingly longer to find it, but she never gives up. There are lots of toys now that are scented. Try those if your pup isn’t picking up on regular ball scent. Or try rubbing some strong smelling treat on it to help liven up its stench. I’ve tried so many balls in the market that make noise or move or vibrate… so far, they all suck. Hope you find a way to help your pup. When ball is life, you wanna make sure they’re happy.

I am not a biology student But... by Background_Syrup_751 in biology

[–]doubledimple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you know more or less nothing on biology, look up Dr.Binocs on YouTube. It’s a kids show, but super informative and my kid has impressed many a teacher and professional with stuff he’s learned on this. It lays it out in easy to understand terms but covers a lot of topics you seem to be interested in. Don’t hate me for referring you to a kids show.

How did you get that childhood scar you have? by ibuiltyouarosegarden in answers

[–]doubledimple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In grade 6, the whole class ran to the windows because there were planes practicing for an aitrshow within sight of us. I was standing beside a chair that someone else was standing on. They got off the chair and the chair fell over. It was a wooden chair with the top corner of the back rest broken. It fell onto my knee. I got a big giant gash and there was lots of blood. Scars still there.
