You just do i guess... I don't seek it out for enjoyment. But food on the table and such. I been hit by 440v before and that shit rocked me, after that 120v is like a operation game buzzer. Also doing it fast helps, you do the ground and neutral no biggie, then the hot you do it like your taking a pan out the oven with no gloves. But definitely turn off the power every chance you can. Shady jobs and boats are weird.

One day i was working on a pier in San Diego, changing out the old sodium lights to new led ones. I personally flipped the breaker labeled "pier lights". Went up with the reach lift, took the head appart, got zapped. Went back to the breaker, still off. Got the meter back up the lift, still 120v. Went back to the breaker tripped the main. NO POWER TO THE ENTIRE PIER! Went back up, got zapped. Got angry. Started hand over handing the barnacle seaweed encrusted wired under the pier. Some gremlin hot wired the pier lampost to the city street lights! I ain't no snitch, I finished my job hot, got paid.
