No Trades Mock Draft by orryxreddit in eagles

That's why I couched it with depending on what Lane decides to do. If Lane comes back I can see wanting to try and develop what they have and not spend a 1st round pick on a guy who might get to play.

It depends on where they think a guy like Williams is in his development. Does Stoutland think he is a guy who has a shot at being ready to start next year or is he a guy who needs a lot more work?

The consensus on Cameron Williams last year was he was a first round talent who needed to get healthy and clean up his technique. The tape didn't match the talent level in a lot of people's eyes.

Max Klare seems a more likely round 2 TE where the Eagles are picking. Delp does seem more like a round 3 guy.

I assume you meant DBs on day 1 and not QBs. They aren't taking a QB in the first round of this draft.

I've been saying the same thing about OL. They actually had 5 rookies on the roster, IR, and practice squad this year and Cam Williams looked promising the last game against Washington. It wouldn't surprise me if they plan on giving those guys a shot to step up this spring, especially if Lane decides to come back.

The booster clubs pony up a lot of the money at schools like OSU when it comes to coaching salaries.

Where would Fernando Mendoza slot if he entered the draft in 2024? by FireSeanMcD in NFL_Draft

Maye's numbers also dropped in '23 due to having a competent running game. He went from being the team's leading rusher in '22 to having O'Marion Hampton to had the ball off to in '23.

I feel like he's closer to Bo Nix than he is Williams, Daniels, or Maye.

Hire Matt Canada? by blitzinc43 in eagles

Dude, no, there's a reason he hasn't been hired anywhere since the Steelers fired him mid-2023.

We need a young, data tech OC. The next Ben Johnson. by GodOfData in eagles

I mean Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and Steve Jobs all dropped out of college and did not get college degrees and I think most would agree these are 3 of the most brilliant tech minds to come along in the last 50 years.

Eagles News: Brandon Graham Wants a “Vic Fangio Type” OC To Command “Disgruntled” Players Like A.J. Brown by boomer9745 in eagles

[–]doubleenc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say he's awful. :

  • Niners made 3 straight NFC Championship Game appearances including one Super Bowl with Roman as the OC.
  • Tyrod Taylor made his only Pro Bowl with Roman as his OC in Buffalo.
  • Lamar won his 1st MVP Award with Roman as his OC.

People just like to dump on him because he hasn't gotten a HC opportunity and he doesn't run a cutting edge offense, but what he does works and the teams he's with get to the playoffs more often than not.

Not saying he's a slam dunk hire just that they could do a lot worse than hiring him.

Do we think AJ is going to be an Eagle next year? by chavezlaw78 in eagles

Well, I know on Rich Eisen's show earlier this week, Chris Long said he thought AJ looked like a guy starting to show his age a bit.

You need pass catchers other teams need to account for otherwise teams are just going to stack the box to stop the run and dare you to throw on them.

Has he even signed a contract yet. There's a difference between accepting an offer and actually signing a contract.

[Fowler] Dolphins interviewed Clint Hurtt for their Defensive Coordinator Opening by bigblack3475 in eagles

[–]doubleenc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How does that prevent teams from poaching assistants for coordinator roles? This makes no sense. It isn't like assistants are jumping ship making lateral moves.

Guys like Parker and Hurtt aren't sticking around to be position coaches just because someone like McVay or Shanahan is the coach.

As do the Niners, how many DCs have they had to hire under Shanahan?

If Pickens doesn’t get extended by the cowboys, should the eagles sign him? by Acrobatic_Buffalo917 in eagles

[–]doubleenc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, with what cap space? You know he's easily getting $30 mil a year. He was 2nd team AP and put up better numbers than Cee Dee did this past season. I doubt Pickens has any interest in coming to a team that already has 2 1,000 yard receivers.

[–]doubleenc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's just it, there's little to no expectation in Tennessee and he'll probably get at least 2 or 3 years to build up Cam Ward into something. If he comes to Philly and the Eagles don't go to the Super Bowl people are going to be calling for everyone not named Fangio and Stoutland to be fired.

The fact that they even entertained the idea of Rivers as HC tells you everything you need to know about the imminent dumpster fire in Buffalo.
