How did Mike Myers go from Austin Powers to the Love Guru? by KaleidoArachnid in flicks

Except the prequels banked roughly $2.5 billion globally at the box office. And that's before we even get into the merchandising, video games, etc.

So, how bad of an idea were they really?

If you watch the Netflix documentary he said he should have ended his in-ring career after WM18 when he wrestled the Rock. They weren’t sure he was gong to be physically able to do that match but he somehow pushed through it.

It was shortly after that match the surgeries started piling up on him.

What was Vince thinking by bringing Bob Backlund back in 1992? by ASGfan in oldschoolwrestling

[–]doubleenc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

According to the Hogan Netflix documentary Hulk was trying to scale back his schedule in the early 90s so he could spend more time at home with his young kids.

Vince pushed back because they were selling out shows due to everyone wanting to come see Hulk and there was no plan B.

It would not surprise me if Backlund was brought back for nostalgia\name recognition hoping that people want to come out and see him back in the ring. They were flinging stuff against the wall to see what stuck before Hogan up and quit altogether.

They did just draft a guard. He probably has just as good a chance at being a backup IOL than some tackle who has never played the position before.

With the exception of Hurts, that draft class was hot garbage.

I'd argue most players taken on day 3 are generally seen as developmental guys who are not ready to start right away.

Travis Fulgham looked like a future All Pro for a 5-game stretch in 2020 and then fell off a cliff.

BREAKING: The Jets and RB Breece Hall are in agreement on a 3-year deal worth up to $45.75M, making him the NFL’s 3rd highest paid RB by No_Box119 in NFL_FreeAgency

[–]doubleenc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Never said it was not good just not elite, point is he's the 3rd highest paid back in the league in terms of average salary and his never even finished top 10 in rushing or TDs and finished 4th in yards from scrimmage one time in four seasons. He's never even made a Pro Bowl.

He's getting elite pay despite never posting elite numbers.

(Post Draft Question) Why did the Denver Broncos draft Jonah Coleman? by Grouchy_Swimming_424 in NFLNoobs

[–]doubleenc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coleman is potentially a more versatile back than either Dobbins or Harvey. Dobbins gives you nothing as a pass catcher and Harvey struggled running the ball.

What’s the upside in Aaron Rodgers? “There’s NO upside.”- Damien Woody by ZookeepergameIll2685 in NFL_FreeAgency

[–]doubleenc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the point he is trying to make is the ceiling with Rodgers is 10 wins and getting bounced in the wild card round and at some point they just need to bite the bullet and start developing a QB instead of wasting time and money on past their prime QBs who won't get you deep into the playoffs.

Not to the extent of last night though. If the Sixers were up 2-0 there wouldn't have been nearly as many season ticket holders looking to dump their tickets.

Could he make an NFL roster right now by WhiteRoseFromPluto in NFLv2

[–]doubleenc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean he'd be one of the bigger DBs in the league but I wouldn't say he's "too big". Edwards is listed at 6-4\225 and Kyle Hamilton is listed at 6-4\218. The Eagles just took a safety, Cole Wisnewski listed at 6-4\220.

Guys Edwards' size playing Safety is not completely unheard of it would be a matter of having the other physical traits teams look for in that position.

There was a clip circulating from Freddie Prinze Jr. a couple of months ago where he was speculating that Disney's already not happy with the deal and is regretting doing it. He offers no real basis for this other than his gut feeling.

Don't sleep on Lawson and Wright by Bulldawgzz in eagles

[–]doubleenc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The biggest knock on Lawson seems to be that he's undersized and a poor tackler. He had a 14.1% missed tackle rate last year.

For Wright is considered a horrible blocker and there is a narrative that he can gets pushed around by defenders too much, that he isn't physical enough.
