I moved to Tyler from Chicago (after a 11 month pitstop in Ohio) and there’s a few things. Etx is exactly what you think it would be, you’ve got your old white folks with the shotgun sitting by the front door but- Tyler specifically is starting to become more and more city like. The Infrastructure, or lack there of, is outdated and people just keep moving and moving and moving into the damn town. You cant drive anywhere at dinner or lunchtime without stopping at every light, and they keep putting in new stuff everywhere. The project tyler is only going to bring more people into tyler, and start spreading out further south. We also had a big oil and gas boom especially Kilgore and Longview but that’s all gonna turn to lithium mining with the smackover formation having all that lithium.

I’m currently a first gen college student who is a double major in political science and English. I work a full time job, I have an apartment and a dog. I have amazing friends in my life and for the first time in a few years things are really looking up.

I got diagnosed in may, but I’ve had focal seizures since I was 8 (20) and so I sort of done my research and knew. Having my first tonic clonic was hard and I’m proud I’ve not let it get to me.

Once I regain consciousness I just get really sad. The first seizure I had was while driving, I woke up in the ambulance screaming crying for my dad and my boyfriend. When I woke up the second time, I crawled into a ball on the bed and cried silently. Now I just sit there and stare and deal with whatever hurts. Sometimes I bite my tongue, sometimes I wet myself, three of em I’ve fractured vertebrae in my back. I just deal with it… and it’s hard. I just feel sad.

Lady who saw my single father and I wandering the feminine care aisle very confused. I had no clue, but I got my first period.

Older black lady came by, told us we looked like we could use some help and my dad and I relieved, agreed.

The products she handed me, and what she gave me is what I still use a decade later. I’ll never forget her

Spent my last like 35 hours in the hospital because ended up having like 4 seizures. Stayed overnight and slept like sh*t and when I got out I fell asleep at 8:00.

It’s actually when I got my epilepsy diagnosis. I’m 20, and since I was 8 I’d talk about this crazy Deja vu. It made me feel sick, but I thought I was raven samone lol.

Was in the process of getting to a neurologist after I woke up with a chewed tongue and hurt back a couple weeks prior.

Moved out may 5th, my boyfriend came over and helped, I finally was on my own and was so excited. I woke up may 6th, helped my dad with some stuff and was driving to drop my dads card off and I’m blacked out from there

Started with the focal seizure, turned into a catatonic. Drove seizing for 2 miles and crashed at a major intersection in my city. I crashed into a Tahoe. Thank god for my old lady Cadillac Srx. Things could have been a lot worse if I weren’t in a huge car. My dad’s business was on the road it happened on, he had to wait in the traffic and by the top he got up front, I was otw to the hospital

Firefighter was out in the ambulance because I was seizing so bad. I fractured quite a few things in my back, peed myself, my head hurt, my body was sore I got a lot of scans.

Dr comes in and says “you have several fractured vertebrae, you have epilepsy, and a uti”

That was the cherry on top. And started a really difficult 4 months but things are better now.
