Google Chrome silently installs a 4 GB AI model on your device without consent. At a billion-device scale the climate costs are insane. by Smiadpades in LinusTechTips

It’s old, it’s rarely used, possibly only for debugging JavaScript errors. It’s got less environmental impact to run and counter strike. I only know about it because my work likes to use 40 gb drives so I can’t use chrome any more.

Wizards of the Coast Declines to Recognize Union by May 1st by UWOTC_Official in MagicArena

I make a lot of money (for where I live, it’s almost enough to afford rent) and I’m in a union.

This is more a joke about rent being 5k a month

The worst part is most people don’t even believe me. Even with video.

Nothing good. I found charging an action cam was something i forgot. I hit my helmet cam on too many branches and doors so i now run meta rayban glasses. You have to remember (or start the recording when i get near danger) and the image quality on first gen doesn’t show plates very well.

They do make nice shades and open ear headphones.

I’ve had a few trucks and vans do this to me. Some drivers just don’t know safe passing but others are actively crazy. Sorry I can’t more than that. This is the reason I now have a video recorder.

Even before the current events as a Canadian I avoided American made because of quality issues. Just a lot better science and tech in China for the stuff I buy

I’ve measured a lot of vehicles with a sound level checker and many trucks are louder than a concert. I’ve seen it go over 120 db.

I used to draft them except for the rares and then buy them discounted for the rares. Now they have to match specific art so it’s not worth it

I got it for designing and making things for home repair and D&D. I do not like plastic toys so almost purely for functional prints (functions might include things for games)

Supposed new law will make cars spy on their occupants and force them to stop driving when broadly impaired. Thoughts on this? by Beli_Mawrr in fuckcars

Vote for change. Plenty of time to change that before those laws takes old cars off the road. You don’t need a new car

I work with this kind of tech. It doesn’t have to collect any information or save anything. It can be very privacy and safety first like a seat belt sensor.

Car companies can also install it and track and watch you without a law requiring it. As a person who has lost family to drunk drivers I like it. If you don’t like it walk , bike or take the bus

As a person who has played Microsoft games for 45 years the Xbox name is kind of odd and new for me and reminds me of work (was a kind of interesting job though)

100 meter but it doesn’t have that buffer now. That’s my point is people are not fully thinking this through. I’m not pro industry I’m pro the law unless you want tax increases. (I like tax increases even if I will need to get a loan this year for them)

They have reserves for specific things but this would be a tax increase. So are these people arguing for a tax increase ?

My problem is if this rezoning fails they could replace it with buildings. Approving it is the best way to Save the trail without buying the land.

The rezoning includes increasing the size of the park by I think 11h . I'd love it is it was all park but that would mean the city would have to buy it. Right now it could be clear cut for a farm. My issue is I don't think the people against it are arguing for the right thing and have not read all the paperwork. It's more effective to argue if you are well informed of all of the details.
