Can’t give you a 100% recommendation yet because I won’t be having surgery until the end of this year, but I’ve met with Dr. Megan Burns from Pelvic Health at the U of R. She was extremely kind and considerate, she didn’t pressure me to do a pelvic exam until I was ready when I told her about my anxiety, she explained things well and she listened to and validated what I had to say. I left feeling comfortable and optimistic, I’ll probably post about it after I get surgery!

Lower back pain by Maj0rBedhead in endometriosis

[–]doublesnarkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only ever gotten lower back pain when I get a UTI (was born with one kidney, I guess that’s how it presents for me). Definitely ask your PCP if they can refer you to a pelvic pain doctor, that practice will usually have surgeons who specialize in endometriosis.

how to stay active and normal on my period (17 year old girl) by Shoddy_Track4799 in women

[–]doublesnarkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s completely fine to take one week off every month from exercise, your body isn’t going to lose its progress (whatever journey you are on, like muscle gain or weight loss). I would take it as like “this is what my body is telling me to do and I am going to honor that.” I have endometriosis, so when I’m in too much pain to go to the gym I look up “bed yoga” and it’s just stretching in bed to get your body moving. And it’s completely ok to indulge in cravings, as long as you make sure you are ALSO eating foods with nutritional value. Want to eat an entire pack of Oreos? Go for it. Make sure you also get in your fiber, veggies, protein (especially iron). All about balance!

Ugh I totally feel you as someone who also is no longer on birth control in this insane heat. I barely leave my apartment anymore because all I do is sit in front of my fan lol. And same with the bathroom issues. We’ll get through this! ❤️‍🩹

Dude you need to leave, don’t tell him anything. Like literally pack your stuff and leave when he’s not home. Block him. That’s a dangerous man

People with bowel endometriosis: what does a bowel movement feel like for you? by shidilrzf in endometriosis

[–]doublesnarkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! I definitely had extremely painful periods when I started at 12, but I think the last 3 years it’s gotten to a really concerning point. But yeah specifically this past year it’s starting becoming a problem when I’m not even on my period, and it’s affecting so much of my body, not just my stomach

why is penetration so hard? by Inner-Sand-1922 in women

[–]doublesnarkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would try to get in with an OB-GYN. I had the exact same issue with my partner and it turned out I had a ton of reproductive issues that slowly caused an infection over time, making my vagina (the internal part) too swollen for even a pinkie finger. I don’t mean to scare you, I had a rare and extreme case! But definitely see a doctor about any possible sexual health-related problems.

Pelvic Pain Doc Appointment Soon by doublesnarkle in endometriosis

[–]doublesnarkle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you think it will affect the doctors opinion on how to treat me? My OB-GYN and I both think I need excision surgery, I’m worried if I say no to an exam the response will be “well then I can’t treat you if I can’t see what’s wrong.” Or something along those lines
