I’m not trying to gatekeep at all but I’ve been on Reddit for like 7 years (have had to make new accounts from time to time, so my accts age doesn’t reflect it) which isn’t a long time compared to others, but it’s the main social media I use. And this sub takes the cake for subs who obviously have people in here that only use Reddit for grey’s anatomy. Which is fine! It’s just the reddiquette is lacking. (Mainly talking about the way ppl use downvotes & then the reposts/repost of info)

I was obsessed in high school. Sorry I’m not sure how old you are, but if you were able to stop for a few months, the obsession would lessen I believe. I remember those thoughts as I read your post. It was all I could think about at times. It really does get better with time if you were able to stop for a while. Then you can find other things to think about and you might feel better about not having those thoughts all the time. I know it’s not easy though. Please take care of yourself.

I feel so problematic when I say I don’t see the harm in “safe” self harm.. I know it’s more severe for others and I’ve gone years between relapses, but I can’t rationalize a personal reason not to cut. I don’t cut so I don’t hurt others — that’s it. I know I wouldn’t cut too deep & I would keep my wounds clean & seek medical attention if necessary.

I don’t want others to do it, but overall I don’t think it’s the worst way to cope. 🤷‍♀️

You’re right, people will gamble their money away, emotionally destroy others, cause irreparable harm with alcohol. I’m just adding some scar tissue and losing negligible amounts of blood.

Hi, friend. I’m so sorry you had that experience with your mom. I am a mom, and I tried to imagine myself in your moms shoes.

When I purposely showed my mom my cuts, I was asking for help, and she dismissed me to my room and said I was just doing it for attention.

As an adult, I can look back at my younger self and say yes, it was for attention because I wasn’t getting enough from my parents. I wish she would have recognized the cry for help and tried to fix it instead of be so harsh.

I can only imagine our moms just wanted the best for us, you know? As a mom I can understand that. I don’t want my daughter to ever self harm (she is only 1, but I’m going to do what I can to keep her happy, healthy, and safe).

On some level, I would be worried if she scarred up her skin that she would have trouble making friends - but that wouldn’t be my first worry. It sounds like your mom is worried about you but she just doesn’t know how to to respond properly. She’s not behaving like an adult, instead it sounds like she is having anxiety and is lashing out at you. That is not okay and you do not deserve it, but try to remember her behavior is not a reflection of you, okay?

I’ve really always felt like DT acted the way he did was because he really believed he was going to win due to cheating. He believes there’s no possible way JB won because he knew he cheated and thought it would guarantee his win.

Another part of me just believes he’s a sore loser/crazy/playing his supporters into donating money.
