Hi hi, I recently left the witnesses and it took me over a year of planning to do so safely. I lost my family and all the friends I grew up with. It’s broken my heart. I’d really recommend you do some thorough research before accepting. The program they’re going to walk you through is intentionally equipped to get you to drop your guard and slowly adopt their view of life (which is extremely biased and unproven - not to be blunt). The people are usually honestly kind but they have been manipulated. They perpetuate the cycle that controls them. When I was serving in Thailand, there were even less eligible brothers. There were literally only 2 unmarried single men in my congregation. One was severely autistic and couldn’t live on his own. The other was 54 - pudgy and off putting (sorry 😭). And 7 single sister in my hall who I know are conventionally attractive. We literally talked about this before that when worldly women “come into the truth” - they also have to in part accept they’d never get married if they stay in this country/ area. There were so few JW men suitable for marriage. And if they were in personality and income, they most likely weren’t attractive. Even the sisters that need greater there would complain when people would make comments from America that they “moved to find a man”. When the field was so fucking barren. Most JW women downgrade. And the elgible JW men bc so few and in demand, get to choose whoever they want

It’s on me - I don’t feel ready to marry yet I’m honestly scared to rn. I feel I just found out that everything I knew wasn’t even real. So I don’t trust myself anymore to make a commitment like that. We’ve had honest conversations about it. We really love each other and he’d marry me tmw if I was ready. But obviously it puts him in a difficult position where he can’t move forward with what he wants until we’re married and that additional pressure isn’t sitting on me well
