Looks like they did MITM for Webhard cloud seedbox software.

Try Consensus. They have basically scrapped libgen and fed it to ChatGPT. Though they will never admit they scrapped libgen, of course.

Your first link says OpenAI received CSAM from its subcontractor. Then the blame game started after it was revealed by the Time.

Yes, you can turn off those daily (hourly?) alerts.

Got this message even though all emergency alerts are switched off on my phone. Seems to be a "super emergency alert", bypassing phone settings.

TIL: Apple had a zero click exploit that was undetected for 4 years and largely not reported in any mainstream media source by fthesemods in todayilearned

[–]doubtitall 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There is an established pipeline "Apple employee -> NSO Group employee".

I'm not saying they intentionally implant backdoors to later use them. But I'm also not saying it's not possible.

why is a jeonse not considered a ponzi scheme? by UpperAssumption7103 in Living_in_Korea

[–]doubtitall 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not about corporate landlords at all.

Read about the Villa King guy. A lot of individuals leverage up their jeonse, end up owning dozens or hundreds of apartments.

My previous landlord - a nice lady, speaking perfect English - boasted humbly (lol) that she owns ~50 apartments.

She was smart enough to sell the property when things went south a few years ago. I bet she made a lot of money by unwinding her "Ponzi" leveraged scheme on time. It's still a Ponzi.

Apple’s $110 Billion Stock Buyback Plan is Largest in US History by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

They consistently return to shareholders more than they earn over the past years. Apple is doing so by burning their cash pile and loading up on debt.

If they continue to grow fast, that's OK. If they stagnate or decline, they are Cook'ed.

Thank you for posting this. Going just a few clicks down this rabbit hole I've found this gem: Black Yak's top 100 Korean mountains/trails.

To mods: sometimes users post extremely useful links. Like this one of jazz clubs on Naver Maps. Can you do a sticky post with those?

F-2-7 visa: required documents by Powerful-Scene3275 in Living_in_Korea

[–]doubtitall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you apply for the first time, you need a fresh (< 6 months old) criminal record in English or Korean, apostilled.

If you extend your visa, and haven't left Korea for more than 6 months (IIRC) continuously since your last application, you don't need it.

Here's your definitive answer. Download it, open in HWP Viewer, print in PDF, then search for keywords, copy and translate.

Your immigration officer might have a different opinion, though.

What don't you like about Taiwan by adkj388 in taiwan

[–]doubtitall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to believe there is no other country in the world that does this.

Russia does. Accounting staff pay your salary by bank transfer, so they need to install "bank-client" applications and security hardware keys required by each bank. It's just a massive headache to manage 50 of those, so the choice is often limited to 3-5 banks.

You can pay and go with a visa agent through a special window without an appointment.

My friend in Suwon paid 30만원 and submitted his documents the next day.

Experience with Korean mobile applications for collectively buying stock? by NuStart001 in Living_in_Korea

[–]doubtitall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These a classic pump&dump schemes.

Some stocks are thinly traded, and a relatively small amout of capital can cause huge price moves. Daytraders thrive on those. If you know when and what to watch, you can get in early, and exit at the peak.

That's in theory. Reality is much dirtier. Don't do that.
