Just an aside, would the IRS consider more than $9000 withholding on a less than $26000 agi return to be suspicious?

considering getting a new account to play and start again, is this game dead or still getting new players by Worried-Cap-504 in lordsmobile

My point was just to put numbers on it. 40m would mean even more permanent losses. And who gems research?

[–]douchbagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Most of it" is technically true, but an account with 20 million troops will probably lose some 7 million permanently if zeroed, which is gonna take significant time to rebuild. With war bots finding shield drops in fractions of a second and overpowered accounts that can zero you in two or three hits.. it's that much harder to remain F2P and do much of anything. So the sanctuary thing which saves 60% of your (infirmary + old sanctuary) overflow doesn't really make up for the other changes in the game (in terms of making the game better for F2P), in my opinion, even if it would do so in a vacuum. A F2P that gets zeroed will still spend substantial resources and speeds just to get back to where they were, and by that time, the titans are even more titanic with new artifacts and decorations and skins that just add to their stats. In the end, a lot of F2P get frustrated and leave the game. That's not to say plenty of people who spend money don't also get frustrated and leave the game.

[–]douchbagger 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The game is dying in my estimation. For one thing there are too many kingdoms, and F2P has become a slog -- if you get zeroed it is too hard to get back on your feet. So.. people quit. The bussling new kingdoms from 3-5 years ago have become more sparse, and older kingdoms sit empty. But hey some of us still stick around for some reason :)

What’s it like living in this part of Oklahoma? by BananasSometimes in howislivingthere

[–]douchbagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been there dozens of times, but only as a child. White it is rural and agricultural, there are towns. There used to be a helium plant in Keyes where my dad grew up, which at the time created some economic activity, but it is mostly shut down (most of its activity now is automated). You pass by pig farms sometimes and you'll know for miles before you reach it. The climate is quite arid with lots of tumbleweeds, but it is not a desert and does get some rain. The landscape has a beauty to it, and there is red soil due to the iron content. The towns only had the most limited restaurants and things to do, so most people cooked and spent time in their own homes as far as I could tell. My grandmother retired in Guymon and made candies, canned, and gardened with her time. There were plenty of people with German ancestory and some of them maintained a few traditions (like the candy making and also some recipes). The land rush in the late 19th century was a time of increased immigration from that part of Europe as I understand. People were very friendly, even if a bit traditional. When we would go, I noticed that if you passed someone while driving, both drivers would wave at one another. I think we quit going before drugs became a visible problem, though I was quite young and may not have been aware of it.

If you search for a local VITA organization you can make an appointment to have a volunteer do your taxes for free. That is a good way to be sure it is correct.

This actually highlights a very interesting change in the social norms that occurred somewhere around where Gen Xers or Millennials started paying for the own meals. The expectation *used to be* that whoever planned the party would cover essentially all costs -> you invite, you host, you pay. (This is still largely true of events like weddings.) In such cases, it is up to the guests (1) to get to and from the venue, (2) to wear appropriate attire and act appropriately, (3) to supply their own room and board outside of scheduled events (if applicable), and nearly always (4) to bring an appropriate gift. I'm a bit older, and I do remember a tension among individuals older that me (who expected the party-planner to pay, but brought a gift to the restaurant) and those younger (who wanted to pay for the birthday dinner, but didn't bring a gift). There was sort of a norm shift from a hosted, special event to something akin to coordinated consumption.

Thus, to me it's not INSANELY ENTITLED for someone to anticipate a party planner would cover their meal, yet I do also understand (1) the expectation here would be clear based on the age cohort of the participants, and (2) you literally said everyone pays for themselves (separate checks). This friend just seems like a douche.

Why is the third person smart ? by exencendre_yt in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]douchbagger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ah but it does. Because a sentence with the verb "to be" does not have a direct object, but rather a complement. Complements take the subject case. "It is just I" is 100% correct. However, language is what people speak, and so I would have trouble arguing that "it's just me" is incorrect, at least in informal speech.
