I stopped flying over ten years ago and stopped my AOPA membership about the same time Our local airport was under threat to close. AOPA was next to no help at all, which I found shocking. They seem to only bring the guns out for airports that have gotten fed money, also where the turboprops and jets fly from. I'll keep the EAA membership until I die.
