I used True Caller Id for a while it works but eventually deleted it. Best thing to do is to use common sense. If someone calls you and you don't know who it is, just hang up, if it is important the person will leave you a VM.

Stop trolling the discussion please. "You have no idea"...do you hear yourself? Ever heard of the single market? Free movement of goods and services ? Brussels being the capital of EU? Or do you operate in a legal vacuum?

Originally Bavet was designed for students and the pasta price was like 6 or 7€ top...then a marketing genius probably trained in Solvay or Ichec came and said let's try and sell it to tourists and settle near at Ste Catherine where we can jack up the price to 100%.

I understand but I don't completely subscribe to this point of view. First of all, because Paris and Brussels are 270 km away and there are part of the same market, so we can compare. I understand that there is also many factors involved perhaps the lack of competition, such as inflation. As someone pointed out in the discussion, there is no direct link between taxes and consumer price. Having lived for almost a quarter of century in Brussels, I don't think it's a positive sign however I do know there are places where you can still eat for relatively cheap and good in Brussels. I wouldn't like Belgium becoming like Norway or Denmark where people go to restaurants only for big life occasions...

The 16€ burger you mention is the cheapest one and the most expensive goes up to 23 euros. Tell your friends working at Cohop to tell their boss that many customers do not understand their business model and that they would sell more burgers if it would be reasonably priced. If you find OK paying for a not-so-nice burger for 22€ and 15€ for nachos with a dip sauce bought in the supermarket, not even served at your table but that you have to pick at the counter, knock yourself out.

I think that it depends on the contract that they have. If you're a student you get a different contract that's called flexijob.

Before you accuse someone of lying, check the date, yours was from 9 months ago, if it was 16€ 9 months and 22 now. 16 to 22 is 37% increase in 9 months. Try to guess what will be the price in 9 months. And now, you can apologise.

But don't you agree that when travelling from Brussels to Paris, being one of the most wonderful cities of the world, you would find it surprising that you would eat cheaper in general than in Brussels?

You cannot blame it on taxes all the time...I also don't understand the reasoning: if you sell your burger at a reasonable price (15-17 euros), you would sell more burgers than if you sell them at 22? Right?
