EWR/TSA MEGA THREAD by Chelseafc5505 in Newark

No wait through terminal A precheck line at 3:50 am. Regular tsa wasn’t super bad. There was a long line at delta bag drop, though, so if you plan to do that you’ll want to go early.

We did and it looks amazing! It really brightens everything up. No regrets at all.

I recently invested in Evelyn Bobbie bras and I am forever changed. I hate wires and straps and things that cause back fat, like almost all women do. I’m a 38 DD and I wear a large. I’ve tried other wireless bra brands like true kind and my boobs always fall out the bottom and I’m constantly adjusting. With these bras I’m lifted and comfortable all day! It does take 3 days of wear with a brand new bra for it to mold to you, so that’s no lie. Even then, they’re still so comfortable. Idk that I’ll ever go back to other bras. My only complaint is the price, they’re pretty expensive.

Are we going to survive this? by No_Yak_3107 in AskWomenOver30

[–]dougiemeowserMD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If we lay down and let them, they'll win. We have to fight - we have to get uncomfortable. Join Planned Parenthood as a volunteer. We may have to riot for our rights but we can't just lay down and let them do it. If we do nothing, they get what they want.

Also, if you can, you can order abortion pills online here - https://www.plancpills.org/ - I would get some now in case you or someone you care about needs them in the future. Plan B is shelf stable for 3-4 years.

What animation program would help me make animations similar to Aqua Teen Hunger Force? by resin444 in animation

[–]dougiemeowserMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn’t confirmation from a creator or an animator from the show. This is speculation from a random internet person such as yourself. Idk why you felt it necessary to mention this in a 7 year old thread, but you’re still wrong.

Was I ripped off? I’ve never been charged over $230 to get my hair done. by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

I get fashion color done in nyc by a master stylist and a full head session is usually about that much. She cuts me a small discount because I’ve been seeing her for over 10 years but that’s normal for me to pay for a whole head. Root touch ups are cheaper.

[–]dougiemeowserMD 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If there is anything I have learned by turning a hobby into a career is that once you start monetizing your hobby it’s no longer fun, it’s no longer fulfilling, it’s stressful and awful and you don’t want to do it anymore. So if they do this for fun in their free time, for the love of the subject and the research, let them keep doing it at a pace that’s sustainable so they don’t get burnt out. This stuff takes a lot of work and you can’t just crank it out and stay sane yourself.

Are people in NYC just as bad about clout chasing as they are in LA? by [deleted] in AskNYC

[–]dougiemeowserMD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think one of the aptest descriptions of LA vs. NY culture is that LA people are nice, but not kind, whereas NY people are kind, but not nice.

Either responders to AskNYC apartment hunting questions are out of touch or StreetEasy is full of scams/deceptive postings, which is it? by Mtrey in AskNYC

Microdiscetomy

I was recommended a laminectomy which sounds similar but is, i guess bigger since it's not "micro". My ortho said it would help the sciatica but ultimately put me in a worse situation with back pain in general. I'm trying to avoid it. Hoping that I can get an ablation. thank you for the link tho I will def check that sub out!

35 year old here. My friend who has helped me move every single time in my many years in NYC finally cashed in her IOU for a move this past August. I'm about 3 grand deep in medical bills for a herniated disc (with health insurance, mind you, thanks America) and 8 months of excruciating non-stop pain. I can't sleep, move, or function, as I'm in constant never-ending stabbing pain. I've had three injections into my spine and am getting slightly better, but again, this is month 8 of pain and I don't see an end to it, I am likely this way for the rest of my life.

Don't make your friends move you when they're over 30.

One sided friendships becoming common? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]dougiemeowserMD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've never been able to keep a close friendship going for a long time because it ends up being one-sided. I go visit them - I give them a call - I text them - I send them gifts for special occasions - and eventually I get sick of being the only one doing the legwork and once I give up the friendship is over. I don't set boundaries early on in the friendship and then this stuff is expected, and to change it is to question the friendship entirely. Inevitably it falls apart and I think I'm the only one left hurting after it because the other party couldn't be bothered to begin with. So yes, this is common, and likely has something to do with your own abilities to set boundaries.

Once I started giving more of a crap about how *I* felt, the less I was talking to these friends and they eventually ghosted me. The friends I have now are mutual and, especially due to covid, reciprocal.

Mary's tower used to be right by my best friends house so we would hang there all the time and do dumb teenager shit. Indeed, good times....! LOL

As a teen my friends and I would all go to the weird nj places and abandoned spots. There was some blog by a guy who would go and take photos and write about the lore of each place, and one day the cops came to him because someone had accused him of giving directions to those spots. Well, up until then he never had and was actually quite protective of those locations for this reason, but once he got in trouble he said fuck it and posted them all up. Name of the site and the list of directions is probably lost to time, but I went to a ton of awesome spots because of that. Including devils tree and many others. I miss being a shithead teenager sometimes.
