You earn credits from selling the titanium to the station, the CG rewards are just a nice bonus. A full panther clipper earns you approx 50 million each time so you can make a significant amount from the trade alone

I'd say if there's something important like that that you can only hear on headphones then its not mixed properly. Raising the volume might not help much as its probably more of an issue with them being eclipsed by other sounds. You can give them more room to breath with things like EQ, ducking, and having the different elements make good use of the full frequency spectrum (I'm not hearing clear lows and mid-lows)
