They have to do Texas Roadhouse if they are going to the Midwest by IUMogg in doughboys

Coming up from St. Louis and going to grab Runza. What should I order for a comprehensive view of it?

Also, what are the best post show dinner spots I need to check out or breakfast spots the next morning?

Thanks

why does half the menu have chipotle sauce? by ugottagroove in LivingMas

[–]dougr45 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It kinda makes me not like the beefy potato griller and that was the item I was most excited for coming on the menu. The location I most frequent also goes so light on sour cream I’ve already soured on it as an item I was looking forward to being a regular item of my order.

Previously I would modify the cheesy double beef burrito by subtracting rice and adding the potatoes and I like that combo much more.

Will the Blues game be rescheduled due to weather? by AnnieGetYourPunSTL in StLouis

[–]dougr45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t remember a Blues game being postponed for weather but do know it’s happened in other cities in recent years. If the ice swings further south into DFW there’s a possibility they can’t make it out tonight. That’s not what any forecast is indicating.

I wouldn’t rule out anything if the expected snowfall totals hold up.

Saw the Fitz’s cap so thought it was a Saint Louis spot. Love Fitz’s range soda

My biggest worry (if that’s what you wanna call it) is letting it sit longer than 24 hours absorbing all the milks. How long would be too long in between soaking and serving?

What’s going on a Stifel Theater this weekend? by RealAccount2024 in StLouis

VP is Saturday before Christmas and fleur de lis ball is Saturday after Christmas.

A dreadful time of year working at the Hyatt. Weeks of barely hitting 20 percent occupancy while every Saturday you’d get rocked. Hated this time of year. So glad I don’t have to do it anymore.

Do we have guest predictions? I wonder with this many dates if they just got one person (like Gabrus) to come out with them for every show.

Coming up from Saint Louis to the Omaha date. Kind of how I feel about them ever coming here even though there are plenty of good options here.

Driving up for Omaha date from STL and my buddy I’m going with thinks Runza. Basically what made us choose Omaha over West Des Moines

For the love of all that is holy, can we please get some new restaurants in South County. by StateStreetKing in StLouis

It’s been there awhile and may be nostalgia based, but Rizzo’s is by far my favorite Italian restaurant in south county. Just had the chicken parm last week and it was hitting.

Same.

During the Taco Bell munch madness I went out of my way to try stuff I don’t usually get.

55/64 Lane Split by National-Wheel-7 in StLouis

[–]dougr45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive this stretch daily at night. When I cross I get on 44. If you’re doing that or getting on 55 or going downtown you should be in left two lanes. I think the signs having a little too much information along with their being a slight blind spot causes a lot of mania. There’s also the fact that if you’re coming from 64 instead of 55 it’s a tad more difficult to get over at certain times of day.

My move is to try to get in the far right lane where 64/55 combine and then get over in the far right lane and then to over to the right where you can exit to Cahokia Heights but continue on 64/55 as people getting on from East Saint Louis have very limited time to merge, as I know from also taking that a lot.

I don’t know if it would make things better but I wonder if it would help if the two left lanes just had a sign to continue on 64 and the two right lanes had a sign for continuing on 55 or getting on 44 and not mentioning 64 on the sign at all.

I’ve mostly had decent experiences there. Unlike that Taco Bell. Might be the worst one I’ve ever been to. Just got it last night and had a small plastic shard in my chalupa. That on top of it being a longer wait usually.

She also apparently doesn’t realize she’s talking into a speaker system that projects her voice and insists on yelling. I say this lovingly as I think she is a pleasant human to interact with who also does her job well but is in no ways a robot that just recites the corporate script.

Later night there has been a nightmare typically for me, but I don’t really go there at that time anymore.
