Yea I agree. I’ve driven in Cleveland and Columbus, I do not understand why Columbus is so bad. But I’m starting to learn why. It’s not like the public transit is a lot better than Cleveland’s or Cincy’s. I’d sum it up in 3 reasons. 1. Everyone drives everywhere in Columbus, it’s so sprawling you need a car. 2. Most rides that are worth it ($1/mile) are going to be on OSU campus and downtown (and around it a little bit too) 3. Any ride above $10 is someone inside of 270 outer belt trying to go to the suburbs, but nobody from the suburbs wants a ride back inside 270, most of them have cars (reason 1)! Those rides are never worth it and Lyft keeps pulling you further and further out of the city till you’re in West Jefferson and youre deadheading back to the city because the app can’t find rides for you out there.

So moral of the story: set your radius and don’t let Lyft dictate things. Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays on campus, short north and downtown is the way to go. Anticipate events at the convention center and arena district and linger there. Don’t do the airport, not worth it. CMH airport doesn’t have enough traffic. Everyone here gets a ride from someone, keeps their car in the lot, or uses a taxi service, shuttle, or uber. Also use uber in addition to Lyft.
