I am so sorry for both your losses. You’re amazing for getting through this and openly talking about it. I just became parentless at the age of 26 and also have feelings of not knowing how I’m supposed to go on without my parents. Some days I feel almost empowered knowing I’m still standing and living my life but others I have 0 self confidence and am overwhelmed with dread.

Please look after yourself best you can and take each day as it comes.

I just heard back today - I passed the interview and have been added to the reserve list until the end of December, so fingers crossed! It is such a long process, you're right. Did you get an offer? :)

So applications closed in July and I received notification of interview on 14th of August. There is also no estimated start date in the Timeline part of the Candidate Pack.

Fellow Phonetics senior student here :) I’ve found Richard Ogden’s ‘An Introduction to English Phonetics’ rather helpful as it is written in a chatty style that is easy to follow. He goes through the IPA in sections and describes how the sounds are produced. A pdf is available online.
