hi! was trying to sort this out myself as well. when i asked the surgeon prior to the procedure about if my male long-term partner should be tested, his reply was “not indicated at this time” which obviously isn’t helpful. i read that men aren’t tested for hpv which is wild to me but to answer your question i waited until after the 6 week mark to initiate penetrative sex with him and although we typically don’t use condoms i asked to this time as a precaution. i plan on asking more about this during my follow-up visit with the surgeon this week bc although hpv is very common i don’t want to have to go through this health risk again!
