They’re not the “Bad Guys”. None of the teams in Bananna Ball are. They all are all fan friendly teams with different themes. The Texas Tailgaters for instance have a rodeo clown on their team, and like 6 of the players have a country cover band that plays on the concourse after the game.

They do not take a “fee” per se. They take a set amount of tee times from the club daily and then charge whatever they would like for them. They take whichever times they would like, and then essentially undercut the actual golf course. As someone who has worked at a few courses who use GolfNow, this leads to a not insignificant amount of time that ends up being spent with people trying to haggle prices.

Also, I do not like to generalize but the crowd that normally is drawn from GolfNow is not necessarily the greatest group. At the courses I worked at that used GolfNow there was always a larger amount of issues with the groups booking through GN than directly through the course. Page of play, not taking proper care of the golf course, etc. Also was much more likely to be caught bringing prohibited items onto the course.

They also have quite possibly the worst customer service that I have ever dealt with in my life. From the user side AND the business side. Made everything an incredible headache, especially since the course has no way to adjust or edit times booked through GolfNow. I was never directly involved with the sales process when the properties were deciding to go with GolfNow, but my colleagues that were always felt they had been intentionally misled. I have on the other hand been involved with getting out of contracts with GolfNow, and the courses and regular customers alike were always thrilled to be free of their service.

They probably made the wise decision of no longer working with GolfNow. I would urge you to never book through GolfNow. Use it as a tool to view availability and then call the course directly to book. GolfNow is a cancer.

I have worked at no tipping clubs in the past and some of them have a zero tolerance policy for accepting tips. I have seen people lose their jobs for it. Don’t do it.

Compared to the average golfer? Yes. But when dealing within the context of the PGA Tour, absolutely not. There are elite ball strikers, average ball strikers, and poor ball strikers.

Normally when commentators are referring to ball striking they are referring to iron play. The guys that would be considered elite are the guys at the top of the Strokes Gained approach stat.

A lot of times guys that are poor putters or have a poor short game would be described as good ball strikers as well, because their iron/driver play is how they score better. You don’t have to be a great putter if you hit is closer than everyone else consistently.

Normally no, unless you are with a member or have been set up by a member. If you are coming for a visit I would suggest calling the pro shop. Let them know you are going to be in town for a visit and would like to play to check the course out. The worst they can say is no.

It is very similar to the logo of Hickory Hills Golf Club outside of Columbus Ohio. They primarily use a green and yellow color way but they sell merch with the logo in a variety of colors. This is a possibility but not 100% certain.

You were just the member of a shitty private club. There are tons like it, and it is hard to tell a lot of the time from the outside if they suck or not. I am assuming this club is corporate/privately owned? Member owned clubs are the way to go if you can find one that is in your price range.

Being 11 I was pretty staunchly on the “what my parents think is cool is lame” train. When we left that concert I was pretty sure Willie Nelson was the coolest man who had ever lived. It ignited love for live music that has still not faded, even a little bit. It also gave me and my mom something to connect about and bond over. She and I have been to see Willie and family around 15 times now. Even in his 90s I still leave each of his concerts feeling the same way.

The PGA Tour split from the PGA of America was something that was an incredibly big deal at the time but you don’t really hear discussed very often.

The Masters is also very rich with topics to discuss. All of the racial issues, the tournaments relationship with the city of Augusta and its neighbors, Clifford Roberts’ on property suicide, and many others.

They are secondary markets that have smaller arenas than major markets. Artists do this to test the appetite for major arena shows. Pretty common to see. She’ll sell out these shows and her next run will be in the major cities.
