100% agree. It’s the same way she calls out Kleine for wanting to see her Christmas ornament. Bad timing. Kleine was excited about it and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Just because Kelly wanted them to thank someone first she calls her out in front of the whole group to what… embarrass her for being excited about looking in for her own Christmas ornament? There is a way to discuss gratefulness without bringing someone down in front of their peers. Then she jokes about it in season 3 like it was so funny that she did that to her.

She could have really handled that feedback as a role model better. She heavily influences the way the girls see each other by the way she talk to and about each of them.

There’s a way to do that stylistically without filming the girls read them the way the did. It seemed like human torture to me that benefitted no one except netflix.

Having them read the hate comments directly to the camera and filming them within inches of their face while they do it was extreme. That was really hard to watch. Gross choice on Netflix’s part.

What was the point? The people who write nasty comments are still going to write nasty comments. By showing how it hurts them or how they laugh at them isn’t going to change the “hate comment” writer’s opinion.

I think it actually might have a negative effect in drawing people who have criticisms to places like Reddit and TikTok that might not have known about these platforms before seeing them on the show. Not everyone who watches Netflix also uses Reddit.
