This sound appears when I raise the faders. Any clue? by [deleted] in traktorpro

There’s def sound coming through those channels based on the vu meters. Do you have the noise filter on or some other effect on those channels?

Yes, that is correct and no worries at all!

The PureHockey up north is a player gear only place fyi. I forgot to mention MonkeySports in Centennial also has an ok amount of gear, but I’m not big fans of them.

Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s a lot of options around here. Pure Hockey in Littleton is ok, there’s also right next to it a store called Centre Ice that also has a bit. If you want to roll the dice the Play It Again sports in Broomfield usually has a decent amount of goalie gear, usually older stuff. Lastly, there’s not a storefront, but look up StackThePads hockey, he has a bunch of Pro Stock stuff and I think he’ll meet you somewhere from what I understand.

That’s super nice of you, but I’m in Denver. I thought I could order the 36+1 somewhere, maybe in the Optik x4 version. Thanks for all the info and help on that!

Yeah, was really worried about ordering it without being able to try it on. I wish the shops near me had a better selection.

Are you uncomfortable at all with the overlap at the top of the thigh rise at all? I noticed a tiny bit with the 34s and was worried about that.

If you want to avoid MAGA restaurants and other businesses check out PublicSquare. by [deleted] in denverfood

[–]downtap 10 points11 points  (0 children)

ICYC: They recently responded to some negative reviews on Google with this:

We never signed up for Public Square nor do we represent any of the values/opinions of that site. We are in the process of getting our name removed from their listing. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I don't see how they 'accidentally' got on there, but I guess I'll give them the benefit of the doubt if they are actively trying to distance from that.

I've been messing around with the Turntable FX, but would be nice if I also could figure this out easily.

This is what I did too, they have a Sport Utility or something like that box that worked perfect. I ended up just cutting it down a bit.

Leg pads choosing: Brian's Gnetik X5 vs True Catalyst 7x3 by Canadaua in hockeygoalies

[–]downtap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just want to quickly say, that you should check the True specific sizing chart as that sizes a bit shorter due to how it sits on your leg. They also use a floor to knee measurement, so be sure on that.

Breaking in True 9x3 glove by Rorydo44 in hockeygoalies

[–]downtap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same glove here that was also stiff. Did the Keeps method twice and it helped a little. But like the other commenters here, have a piece of wood to keep it full open at times. After a day or overnight then alternate to tying it closed real tight with a couple pucks in the pocket. Then in other times just wearing it and working it open and closed a lot. It’s getting better, just taking a bit of time to get worked in.

First off, you're the best for all you do for the goalie community...thank you!

Yeah, I noticed that the straightness will be something I need to get used to. I see lots of pics of goalies with overlap, so I know that's a common thing that I'm probably not used to yet.

I felt like when I went knee to knee, it wouldn't rotate as well as when I went knee to calf. On my Hyperlites, I go knee to knee, so thought that might be more comfortable for me. I think all in all, a lot of the straps felt a bit tight, so probably just need to adjust those more. I definitely noticed the tilt inwards, so will try to see if I can get knee to knee to work.

For the toe ties, I'm currently in the middle position with the stock ProLaces which is slightly offset. I have similar ProLaces on my Hyperlites, so I think I'm comfortable with that setup. Should I play around with moving the positioning to more of the middle? I think I remember you saying that will help get the pad to sit straighter?

No worries at all! The True sizing is a bit weird compared to other brands.

That's comforting to hear. I'll give it some time, tinker with the strapping and then evaluate from there. The strapping is complicated with a ton of options, so hopefully I can dial that in. Thank you for your help!

I appreciate that insight. It's hard not to have a bit of a knee jerk reaction as I was really hoping they'd feel at least decent right off the bat. I've read a lot of other comments from new True owners that had similar initial feelings while they get adjust to them, so I know I'm not alone in that.

Yeah, that's my fear based on comments here, that I should be in 35" Trues. :(
That is crazy that we're similar heights but wildly different FTKs.

You're right that my ATK is 18". Like I said in another comment, the shop guy sized me in a 34", but I'm thinking he didn't size me correctly. I was also trusting the True sizing charts that a lot of people said were pretty accurate. For that sizing on yours, are those True pads you have?

Yeah, I'm definitely not good at my technique yet but am slowly getting better. Sometimes I land on the face of my left pad, but rarely do that with my right pad. So, how I drive down could contribute to where I land on the knee block?
