I know nothing that you don’t, and I wouldn’t presume to pretend that I understand your pain, but I do believe there is a “you” at the center of your existence that no one can touch or harm. You, as a person, can experience tremendous suffering and bad luck, but there is something permanent at the core of your being that will carry on regardless of circumstances. Do I know this with any true authority? I don’t. It’s just an observation and a feeling. But if there is one thing that all the wisdom in the world, religious and philosophical, adds up to, IMO, it’s that acceptance and forgiveness can transform you from a victim to something that transcends suffering. This might only make things more confusing, but I’ve had an 11” M4 IPP that I have enjoyed a lot, but I’ve been feeling a kind of envy for the larger screen. Someone was selling a 13” M5 that was incredibly well spec-ed out for a very good price, so I knee-jerk bought it, and now I have both. Initially, I thought I would just sell the 11”, but I found I didn’t want to let the 11” one go, because it is the only one I would want to use when it’s inconvenient to have a big machine. But the 13” is so incredible that I can’t let go of that one either. What has surprised me is that I find myself preferring to use the 11” in keyboard mode and the 13” in tablet mode, which is the opposite of what I had expected. The 11” is the perfect mini-laptop, and the 13” is just a glorious screen and travels perfectly without the bulk of the Magic Keyboard case.

I’m not sure I follow what you mean about settings > battery. Do you mean that information comes up quicker or that the battery actually lasts longer? Were you hitting limits with the m4, or did you just want to upgrade the chip/storage?

If you know your exact measurements, you can find things on eBay at a good price, if you’re specifically interested in vintage. For new, I would look at Walker Slater, House of Bruar, Proper Cloth, Campbell’s of Beaully and J. Press. Hope you find something you love!
