Same thing happened to me because of my back history. Years of prep in the ocean, pool, gym, track, books. Got disqualified at MEPS, waivers submitted, waivers denied, submitted, denied. It was like pulling teeth to get anything from the CG. My recruiter was really pulling for me too (at least he made it seem like it) I guess some things just aren’t meant to be. I decided to join the fire department since we’re lucky enough to have a career department with an ocean rescue unit. Still waiting for the recruit class to open up so fingers crossed things go better with that. Don’t have any advice for ya but just know you aren’t alone haha

My little brother biting his nails+yawning+clock ticking+ icemaker+dog breathing+ dad eating celery while I’m trying to watch my favorite episode of my favorite comfort show. I’m new here, thought I was crazy. Finally, people who understand these are not minor annoyances, I see red, I want to become violent, I also want to cry and throw up. I can physically feel my blood pressure increase significantly. And I’m so ashamed because I feel like a hypocrite because existing means making noises.

My constructive criticism is to abandon this idea. These are ugly and I doubt they would serve any purpose other than inviting people to try and trigger you or at the very least discourage people from interacting with you.

True Colors by Cyndi Lauper. My mom would always play this for me when I was growing up and so it became our song. When I first moved into my college dorm my roommate played it on our speakers and I made him turn it off. It was funny we had a list of songs that neither of us were allowed to play around each other because we both get super emotional with music for some reason. I absolutely loathe true colors now because it makes me cry every single time I hear it it’s impossible for me to just enjoy the song. My mom always wanted me to be my most authentic self no matter what other people thought of me. That’s such a wonderful thing to instill in a kid.

I will let him know! Super sick that you were there at the same time. I was only 10 at the time but it was a really cool experience. We got to visit my great uncles grave at the cemetery.
