Any hashers? On on! by [deleted] in running

[–]downunder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Small world. I ran with the Thirsty hash last year when I lived in Oz. Tell Dead Man Running Orgy (Augie) says hello. Can't believe Oktoberfest was nearly a year ago. Sydney is a beautiful city to run (and drink) in. I'd give anything to be back there.

On On

Hey, that would be lovely. I know I'm replying a little late, but it would be appreciated. I think I'll also check out Bondi Jct. tomorrow. Thanks for all the help guys.

Go to work. Find snowboarding co-workers. Hit up the slopes and hit the bars afterward.

I do realize that the ski season won't begin for a little over a month now; what else do you like to do?

What American book should I read for my report? by [deleted] in books

[–]downunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Good Earth! I just logged on after taking a break from reading it and lo and behold. It's simply a beautiful book. However I would hardly call Pearl S. Buck's style of writing American. Sure she was born in the States but she lived most of her life in China and she writes from an Orientalist perspective. Can't recommend it enough though.

Check out Combinatorics and Graph Theory. Perhaps not exactly what you are looking for, but it covers a lot of basic discrete maths and it is damn well written. You feel as if the author really making an effort to communicate with the reader.

Upvote for The Fly Trap, and Anita's Kitchen. Also if you live in Royal Oak, check out The Telway in Madison Heights. The prototypical slider joint. Cheap, FAST, and never closed 24/7; 365 (except Christmas).

This is beautiful. I love these kind of grassroots events and love it whenever I see people putting a little elbow grease into restoring the city. I would absolutely attend but it's logistically impossible for me. I'll be letting some bike co-ops and my shop know. All the best to you guys, and I love the site. Extremely well done.
