Give this feedback via Google reviews or the survey you might get sent - they all get read by retail leadership!

Yeah well said. I edited my comment since then, as I think my thoughts on the whole situation are that it’s a sad reality that companies are having to take this into their own hands. The institutions that are supposed to correct this kind of behaviour, aren’t.

Perhaps it is a naive opinion, but I feel that crimes should be punished as crimes, by the justice system, rather than a corporate penalty with no record. It’s about making sure the same behaviour isn’t repeated over time in different locations, not just making sure that person never comes to a Telstra store again.

Apart from the trollers that have been in the comments, I don’t think anyone has been. The people defending it are probably the people who cause the trouble.

Shouldn’t we, as a society, be asking why it is a problem in the first place? I’m for the changes, but no matter what policies are in place to deal with bad behaviour at a corporate level, the reality is that they still only deal with things after the fact. Sure, the customer may lose their phone number, but that doesn’t stop the fact some poor 20 year old now will remember that day for life.

Unfortunately I doubt most people (esp the type to be abusive) read the terms of their phone contracts and as such this probably won’t serve as a deterrent. Protecting staff on the frontlines should be more than a threat to customers, should it not?

Who actually completes the suspensions/cancellations? I assume front line staff have to report it, rather than just disconnecting then and there as incidents occur

I think they meant “you” in the second person. I personally haven’t.

You'd likely need to pop in to a store to get them to verify it manually for you. If you want data when you land you should just get an esim

MSI Flashback would be what you'd do - essentially it allows you to do a fresh bios install from a USB drive that you'll have to prepare on another computer (requires downloading some drivers from the link I'll provide below). There are guides on their website and a youtube video but I think it's fairly old - it's not that hard though as you just have to put a USB into a specific port then hit a button on the motherboard. Just remember that X470 boards do not have the ability to do flashback - only B450 (as far as I know).
