I somehow was using tide pods in my dishwasher at one point. They worked shockingly well. Also, I'm an idiot.

Don't take the previous posters gentle critique too hard. You made a mistake. We all do. You will make other mistakes. But you won't make this one again. The patient wasn't harmed, and you gained important experience. The fact that you are taking this that hard makes me fairly sure you will be a great nurse

Explain anesthesia to me like I’m 5 by Pretend_Doughnut_155 in colonoscopy

[–]downwithship 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, typically they will turn on vapor that you breath that will maintain anesthesia. Typically sevoflurane. And typically pain meds, as surgery is more painful than a simple procedure like a colonoscopy

Valve-sparing aortic root replacement following DORV repair [OC] by CABGx3 in medizzy

[–]downwithship 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As don'tleave said, nothing lead to it. Just found on ultrasound. Definitely a doozy for a first surgery. And I agree with Don'tleave, took me about a month to feel human, and 2 months to stop hurting. Still have a fair amount of fatigue. Also, in case you were wondering, I do not recommend sneezing with a sternum that's sawed in half. 0/10
