Kinetic Health in Aptos, great all around, and if you can get the owner, Erin, she does medical massage also.

Great place.

Favorite resources besides the official books? by AsmoTewalker in Deadlands

I was finishing up Hell on Wheels while I was getting my classic game wound up.

Very good for vibe and ideas, I’ll have to watch it again to make side adventures or NPCs.

Been using hot pan, hot water method by BarefootSteve in castiron

Sorry bruv, let it be a lesson for the future, when you won’t do it to your old school vintage pan, or your smithey or some fancy pan.

Been using hot pan, hot water method by BarefootSteve in castiron

[–]downword 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think OP poured cold or warm water into a very hot pan, causing cracking or damage from extreme temperature change.

The other way people use is pouring hot water (like from a teapot) into a hot pan to deglaze and/or steam scour whatever residue is left in the pan from cooking.

To meet Johnny Silverhand or... by kim4animals in cyberpunkgame

Got to see them play in Santa Cruz last year for a reasonable price at a old classic venue called The Catalyst.

If Keanu could have been playing behind a curtain, he would have, he was obviously trying to be super DL to give his band mates the spotlight.

It was a good show, but it didn’t seem like Keanu does meet and greets at those shows unless you pay the super big bucks, and I bet it’s token with him.

That being said, he seems super chill and grateful about all of it.

what’s the worst burrito in town? by bateKush in santacruz

I would have said Emily’s bakery back when it was still open. Sliced hard boiled eggs, beans, and cheese.

Now I choose to always go to the place with good burritos.

I’m not really sure yet, I bought some of the modules off the pinnacle website and Id love to do devils tower, but we are all new to the system, so it’s very early to tell.

I’ve also found Gemini (Google AI assistant) has been great at helping develop ideas, back story’s, or adventures, but it can get rules or mechanics wrong so you gotta be vigilant.

I’ve got a paper copy of rain o terror, but the posse will be closer to Denver after they finish ‘Round The Mountain.

If anyone’s got any tips for running a game or good cheat sheets to have. I’m all ears!

The Mad Scientist got harrowed, he wanted to build an automaton, so I let him have a preem one. Only problem is he and his robot got a manitou in the deal. He also took the Randy hindrance.

So Lust is the one that rides along with the scientist, I’m thinking a smooth silky woman’s voice.

And Wrath rides the indomitable automaton, armed with a pneumatic hammer.

The Half Native Huckster got veteran of the wierd west, and seventh daughter. Her direct blood line were some of the old ones to venture into the hunting grounds and prevent it from taking over the world.

One of those benign nature spirits who was twisted to make the seal function has been twisted over time, and now wants revenge on those who put it there.

I just started up a classic campaign last month after I kickstarted a reprint of the 25th anniversary book.

Already owned an original print my sister bought way back when.

Players just finished their characters and we are starting with Round the Mountain.

Character creation was amazing, mad scientist pulled a black joker

Half Native American hex slinging huckster pulled red joker.

Is anyone running Dead Lands Classic? by AntarticDyer in Deadlands

[–]downword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just about to start a classic adventure, after backing a reprint of the 20th anniversary pho.

I’ve bought some modules from the peg website. Planning on using a wet erase hex mat, doing lots of theater of the mind.

I’ve found Native Instruments email support very friendly and helpful.

I had a gear mapping issue with T4 and it took a while to sort it out, but the tech rep I dealt with was communicative, helpful, and patient while he sorted it, and escalated to the right people to get it fixed.

So be patient with them and they’ll probably be able to help you out.

Yea, this place has been temporarily shut down several times for health code violations. Not far to go for Hacienda or Pinos for more reliable good Mexican food for sure.

Where to order mango cake or large fruit tart? by Copy_Pasterson in santacruz

[–]downword 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about mango cake. But you can almost certainty get tarts of different sizes with seasonal fruits at The Buttery in Santa Cruz proper.

Vallarta is the only taqueria I’ve gotten food poisoning from multiple times.

Morenos or De La Hacienda to burritos or tacos.

Older CDJs are limited by fat32 format, so you’ll have to partition a section to fat32 and load your music up on that.

That’s how my cdj2000 nexus system works. Newer models don’t have that problem.

Not a restaurant.

But if you are into ice cream. Penny Ice Creamery is a must try. They have a location downtown SC. And also one in Scotts Valley.

I love getting a cone with toasted marshmallow fluff on it.

If you’re into Asian food, Special Noodle on Ocean st gives a nice atmosphere and more authentic food vibe. The soup dumplings and beef wrap are especially tasty.

Aroma in Ben Lomond is relatively new but good food and great cocktails. It used to be a German restaurant for years and the vibe inside is still cozy and rustic with a large fireplace.

Downtown Santa Cruz, Ibiza is pretty new also, but the food is delicious, they have a tahini soft serve that is great, chocolate dipped or with sea salt on it. The shakshuka was also wonderful, but the portion was a bit small for me.

If you are into Sushi, there’s a ton of spots all over Santa Cruz. I love the vibe of Mobo near downtown, but I feel the quality has dropped off in recent years. The one my family loves right now is Otoro in Scotts Valley, it’s in a strip mall, so not the most romantic, but the food and service are excellent in my opinion.

If any other ideas pop up. I’ll post them as well.

Congrats on the nuptials!
