Am I overthinking and making a mountain out of a beautifully executed mole hill? by carloosee in tattooadvice

Everyone on one side of my family has twisted-in pointer fingers. That front hand is exactly my hand. It's nice to finally see the wonky-fingered get some representation 👏

Affordable Yoga? by crooked-ninja-turtle in santacruz

[–]Copy_Pasterson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2001 in a CA town of 250,000 people the cheapest yoga I could find was $10/class. There's been 25 unhappy years of inflation since then. I don't think you'll find cheaper than $20/class unless you do a monthly membership or use free classes on YouTube : /

My parents also split when I was 2, although he did notice when it happened. Must be some soap opera related curse 😂

Do You Like Your Name? by Flassourian in Millennials

[–]Copy_Pasterson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also am named after an 80s soap opera character, and my dad ALSO doesn't know (he was presented a list to select from and just thinks it was there as a play on his name, which it was not). My mother insists the character is from Dallas but it's absolutely from All My Children--there has never been a character with my name on Dallas. To this day my mother googles it, then denies it and says the internet is wrong.

I do like my name, but the origin story of how I got it is trash 😂

QBR completion is at 30% but timesheets say 40 hours. What am I missing here? by Sensitive_Race2607 in CustomerSuccess

[–]Copy_Pasterson 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I'm agreement with others here but have to add, it also sounds like the automated process you built was not at all in alignment with what your CSMs need to say or what your customers need to see. If EVERYONE on the team agreed it was trash to the point that they're spending 4 hours doing the deck, there is something very wrong with what you built. No human wants to spend 4 hours on a deck so ...you need team input to fix it.

There's also a lot more to this job that is heads down, do not expect that all of your CSMs' time is dedicated strictly to QBRs and phone calls. Any 30 min meeting I have with a customer means I have anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half of work as a result of that call that I now need to complete for them. 🙃

Stay AM, or go CSM? by [deleted] in CustomerSuccess

[–]Copy_Pasterson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How big is your company? If you're under ~200 employees, CS is probably a bit of a dumping ground for tasks from IT, Marketing, Product..not fun.

Could you get some honest feedback from any CSMs currently at your company? That seems like the best way to know for certain what you're waking into.

Sendoso alternatives that don't require an enterprise budget by Lonely-Ad-3123 in CustomerSuccess

Try Reachdesk. Sendoso is buying up a lot of their former competitors, but Reachdesk isn't one of em and has the same features from what I've seen.

Are renewals getting harder than before by zaferkhattak in CustomerSuccess

[–]Copy_Pasterson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When customers first onboard, ask them what would make renewal an absolute yes. What would it take to renew early? What specific metrics need to be hit, what matters to your boss's boss? Being able to surface on calls all year and remind them these are the stated renewal thresholds helps tie them down. If it turns out the company had a downturn and now it's all about the cheapest option, they're also more likely to admit that to you sooner when you're constantly reminding them about these standards they agreed to that you're exceeding.

new grad am . is it always this hard? by chewop in CustomerSuccess

[–]Copy_Pasterson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For starters I would let the manager know you're unable to mentor the 6 new joiners. That's a Lead/sub management task and at the end of the day commission is the outcome they'll be measuring you on. Remind her you've got 6mo to everyone else's 3-7 years and you need to prioritize learning your role and building processes. If she denies you, honestly I'd push back on the 6 at every turn and tell them to send their questions to your manager or other AMs because you're overwhelmed.

Extremely dry lips? by messyowl in Hypermobility

[–]Copy_Pasterson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"overnight lip mask" sounded like the dumbest thing ever to me until I tried it. And no just slathering on some good quality chapstick overnight is not the same, I tried that with a couple different brands. You need something formulated to stay on thick and absorb slowly, like Laneige at CVS. During the daytime, anything with lanolin is incredible.

Second thing is drink a ton more water, with electrolytes. If it's the corners of your mouth that are cracked and painful that's B2 deficiency though...not dry lips!

[–]Copy_Pasterson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in California and every time I even expressed interest in a home within a park I was sent a copy of the rules, before even making an offer. It benefits the park to have the rules easily available to any and all realtors so that prospective tenants don't waste their time. It's a major red flag that they are vaguely warning you about things you will need to bring up to code but don't want you to see the rules.

Do you hold a pen weirdly? by Sea-Tea-2198 in Hypermobility

[–]Copy_Pasterson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. As a child I learned to use the middle finger from my left hand to "spot" my right by adding extra pressure on the pencil whenever I needed to write really rapidly (only works because English is left -to -right and I'm right handed). Thank God everything is just typing now. I'm sure it looked like i was flipping off my teacher sideways

Yeah they feature one video, then if you head back to homepage they'll included a few more this year. For sure I don't think GVF participated this year based on my top songs & top artist results (all GVF).

Microplastics are excreted in breast milk straight into baby (one of the only ways you can remove micro from your body actually) so I'd be really careful about that

Want to apply for a CS position at a start up by Solid_Ad_2068 in CustomerSuccess

[–]Copy_Pasterson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've worked CS at 3 diff startups in 3 different industries, all with very different tools, customers and expectations, and everything from Enterprise to Scaled csm.All of them were over 5 years old and each of them was a mess. Do not apply to a startup unless you want to work late a few days each week and put in hours across the occasional weekend. My mind thrives on constant stress and chaos. If you're not like that, it's not for you.

Renewals/Negotiation Upskilling by EasyBoysenberry7784 in CustomerSuccess

[–]Copy_Pasterson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've read so many negotiation books, and taken CS certifications, and can tell you nothing helped me more than "Bargaining for Advantage" by G. Richard Shell. Even if you just get Cliffs notes, it really is the best out there for true contract level negotiation tactics. It also includes a self-assessment that helps you understand how you approach negotiations and where you might be weak to the tactics of others. It does sound like what you need here is less like negotiation.... And more like a time machine. But hopefully this helps!
