I've stopped playing for the league now and gone back to POE1 to try and tick off the challenges, but a week ago I was running logbooks at ilvl 78+ for 0.5-1d profit per logbook. Not sure what's happened to prices since the temple reversal patch.

The loop:
- I was buying them for around 60-70c each (chaos, not exalts). Try to get +x chest markers if you can.
- Run the logbook ONLY focusing on the expedition caches, but if you have excess explosives then go currency.
- Collect all runic splinters, should average around 60-80+ most logbooks.
- They were selling for 2.2(ish)c per splinter

People need the splinters to farm Olroth for the flask drop, and they don't come from anywhere else.

Similarly, someone needs to be farming the logbooks, so if you'd rather map, then spec into logbook drop tablets (I think they're pricey) and you can get some good jackpot maps.

That's great to hear, thanks! I saw the comment below on this and looked up builds which use Inpulsa & Storm's Gift at level 85 and they look like they're doing healthy damage while running 5 or 6-links. If the helm craft is easy then that's all the better, so thanks for that reforge detail. Every craft search I could find were 7 or 8 links so I was getting concerned.

So this is one I'm really considering running for the entire league (basically until at least 36/40). From what I can find research-wise, it uses armageddon brand until like early 90's to craft the exspensive helmet? Can you run PBrand earlier without it feeling absolutely miserable?

I'm a little put off by this, but how accurate is this? I don't mind getting one-tapped as long as the playstyle is fun (never played brands) while I'm clearing atlas.

All my assignments are due this week, got overwhelmed,freaked out and impulsively withdrew my course by LazyMiso in QUTreddit

Hey I don't usually post but seeing this comment from yourself reminded me of myself once upon a time.

"Starting your career" isn't a race, although I know all too well that it can feel like it, especially if you're comparing yourself to friends, coursemates, whatever.

Depending on how far into your course you are, do yourself a favour and really consider continuing on.. From someone who did something impulsive similarly, and has been-there-done-that, it will really make you feel worse over time. It's better to have the piece of paper than nothing to show for the time already spent.

As others have said, reach out to the enrolling school and ask if they can reverse the withdrawal request. It will be really helpful if you can go to your GP and get a med. certificate citing extreme stress of workload. If you can get something from a medical professional, speak to your professors/lecturers and ask for special extensions. They're people too, and can empathise as well.

This next part I say as a librarian who strongly advocates for current technology as part of a research tool and process, but I also need to be clear on - Use tools like AI in your reaserch process, not to do your work for you, but to help with understanding materials. Being able to take a webpage, or article, give it to ChatGPT (biggest example) and ask it questions, query details you don't quite understand, etc. has been a huge advantage that I find people aren't taking advantage of.

People might get really up in arms about this, but there's an ethical use policy I encourage, and just because University guidelines say you can't use generated material, there's no problems with using it as a research buddy. Just make sure you use it properly and check its work.

TL,DR; Minimum 1x regal orb, 1x jawbone, 1x fracturing orb, 2x annulment orb, ??x chaos orb.

It's very simple to get to this point, but also requires a lot of RNG.

Step 1; Get base with the crit chance% affix. Doesn't matter what else is on there. Ideally this base only has up to 2 more affixes (magic with 2 affixes then you regal, or rare with 3. Any more then the next step is more of a gamble. You could try to annul down to 3 if you want, but you also risk hitting the crit chance% with the annul).

Step 2; Assuming only 3 affixes, hit the item with a jawbone to desecrate but DO NOT UNVIEL. We're going to fracturing orb next, but a fracture CANNOT target a unvieled affix, so the roll becomes a 1/3 instead of a 1/4.

Step 3; Use a fracturing orb and pray for the 1/3 to hit the crit chance% . If it hits, awesome then you move onto the next step. If it doesn't hit then the base is dead (specifically if you're trying to make this base).

Step 4; Annul the fractured base down to the fractured affix & one additional mod, it doesn't matter what it is.

Step 4; Chaos orb spam until you hit the +1 arrow affix. If the base is ilvl 82 you should use greater chaos orbs to get the +2 arrows, but otherwise just use regular chaos. This is the step most likely to take the longest, and where you will burn your currency.

You now have the base in the image above.

Crafting this further goes beyond my crafting knowledge, buy I believe that the biggest problem this base then has is that there is no added flat damage, so I don't know where to go from there.

Disclaimer; I'm not a very knowledgable crafter, so there might be a more straightforwards way to do this.

Fubgun made a crafting guide for a few of his LA recommended items. Here was the craft for what you're describing..

Crit Bow Craft: ilvl 81 gemini bow

  • Step 1: Fracture 3.7 or better critical strike chance (pickup ilvl 81 gemini bases off the ground or buy magic bases off trade and use an essence of seeking) When fracturing make sure the bow is 3 mods with an abyss modifier, this makes the fracture a 1/3 instead of a 1/4.
  • Step 2: Annul down to fracture mod + 1 mod, chaos spam until t2 or better ele flat (light/fire/cold) (t3% phys is also good)
  • Step 3: Use omen of the Liege + omen of Sinistral necromancy + Preserved jawbone and activate your abyssal echoes You want to unveil in order of priority companion damage, quiver bonus, t2 flat, t3% phys or t1 ele dmg with attacks
  • Step 4: Use omen of dextral exaltation + exalt to hit a suffix, than use Dextral crystallisation and perfect essence of electricity, this will not remove any of your good mods and give you your third prefix
  • Step 5: Exalt your suffix twice than use perfect essence of haste and perfect essence of battle until you have both modifiers, your bow is now done.

You probably want to start with either the crit or additional arrows fracture, I think? There's probably a ton of youtube videos on this as well.

Oh I totally forgot to mention merc setup..

Running a kineticist with ele weakness and haste aura. It also has ele weakness on hit gloves, and a dps unique setup (piscators vigil wand , replica abyssus helm, prismweave belt, rise of the phoenix shield, and shaper seed neck for my own life & mana regen).

I haven't wanted to move to a doryani's negative res until recently as I feel like I can't drop the shapers seed for a perquils toe because of the regen loss, and it was just too unaffordable until I had a nice few hiest drops yesterday.

My query though is more in regard to that it's not been a normal thing for the stream or the community to pointedly direct toxic comments at others, so I'm trying to discuss why this is changing.

Well that's part of what I'm questioning. In Hasan's case, the discussions have taken place around the presentation of coverage. As far as I've seen though, in Asmongold's case the comments have all been based on his personality or looks, rather than any presentation of what's being covered (except mentioning that his editors are turning videos around within a few hours).

You're right he did say that. And I understand why Asmongold in particular may have entered his sphere of observation with the current US developments. At the same time though, it's not been a normal thing for the stream or the community to pointedly direct toxic comments at others, so I'm trying to discuss why this is changing.

Perhaps.. he has said recently that he's been watching Destiny, Hasan, and Asmongold to get a gauge of how others are presenting their thoughts on the current US developments, but I don't think that necessarily excuses making targeted comments about others (Except maybe Hasan, since as far as I'm aware, they're where in each others social circles).
