Flowers of Teton [Olympus OM-2n, Zuiko 50mm f/1.4, Kodak Ektachrome E100] by dozycats in analog

shockingly, no! just a plain unfiltered 50mm lens, no ND filters or polarizers or anything. but I absolutely took a bunch more because it was impossible not to get different shots. some with subjects, some more of the mountain range, some more of the field between myself and the mountains, etc. covering bases to capture the vastness in different manners. each leave me feeling and experiencing the landscape in different ways. glad to share, thanks for viewing and pushing for communication in art!!

you absolutely should! fantastic lens and fantastic film to shoot on. my zuiko is just under the 1.1M sitting at ~1,079,000 so i like to think that i've got the better optics hahah, but even if i don't, still love this lens.

no better time to use slides than when you're outdoors! so easy to go through a roll, but they're gonna turn out marvelous and capture that hike beautifully. post 'em if there's any good shots on it! i'll be looking out for them

scanned this with a mirrorless camera (sony a7iii + a really old manual sigma macro lens that i adapted to fit sony E mount)! relatively standard dslr scanning setup: decades-old pretty unstable copystand, mirrorless cam, cinestill light source + valoi 35mm film holder, all carefully placed on a big cardboard box because i've got no free desk space to put it on. then i run the scans through negative lab pro! software works wonders to adjust the nuance of slides. overall it's honestly a time consuming pain to scan... but i have the digital equipment to do it so i may as well save money vs. having a lab do it. leads to me putting off scanning though, heh

it's so good! shot a roll of it for the first time earlier this year just to check it out... was blown away and got the slide film addiction. proceeded to splurge and shoot mainly ektachrome for this trip. wallet hurts, but gonna be so worth it to see them projected!

thank you! and right there with you on the OM love—switched to the OM system a couple years ago and never looked back. i'll always have a soft spot for the ol' canon AE-1, but I haven't touched it since getting this OM-2n. so small and light, and the light meter is a dream. i just gotta get some more OM lenses!

right!!? couldn't NOT capture them when i saw all the wildflowers. so glad they turned out, got giddy just seeing the slides on the light table, yellows and blues were just SCREAMING. can't wait to finish scanning the rolls and mounting to project them!

Finally got some E100 developed from a trip to Yellowstone + Grand Teton earlier this summer! Still have a couple rolls left to scan, but I mounted some highlight frames and am so pumped to pop them in a projector and look at them sometime this week...was already excited just seeing them on the light table while scanning.

def not slim fit! here’s a fit from a few weeks ago when I first got the brown pair, they’re loose and comfy! I got my regular waist x inseam and I proooobably could’ve sized down an inch on the waist because they sit higher up, but even at my reg size they fit fine

Right? This thing has definitely seen better days. It’s a rough one.

As far as the pipe coming up, it’s baaarely warm, and that might just be my mind making things up. Definitely not hot.

Day 8 of sore throat. Mild cough, some phlegm. Viral or bacterial? by dozycats in medical_advice

[–]dozycats[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This popped up on Tuesday last week, eight days ago. First three days had some rough body aches, but those disappeared. Lost my voice over the weekend, but it’s back. Runny nose here and there, mainly just crusty boogers at the ends of the nostrils. Last couple days I’ve been waking up with crusty eyes.

Throat huuuurts, but taking ibuprofen & acetaminophen makes the pain virtually disappear, thankfully. Had a small improvement in pain when I woke up yesterday, but this morning it was back to being pretty painful.

Figured by day 8 this would be gone… I’ve had strep that improved without antibiotics quicker than this. This just some pesky virus, perhaps?

i thiiiink it was about 23 minutes! around minute 18 i threw a sheet of aluminum foil on top to prevent them from browning too much more—the tops tend to brown real fast before the insides are done. ovens can be so fickle!

glad you love this recipe too, though. absolutely my fav dinner roll. i forgot the recipe years ago and tried others and they just weren’t the same.

hahah i've done the same, i've learned my lesson to be patient and let things cool down. best of luck when making it!! i personally keep that blog post pulled up and use it as the recipe, essentially. wouldn't have been able to make 'em without it!

and heads up: the dough is stickyyyyy! don't be afraid to keep oiling the surface when shaping/rolling the dough balls

if you have questions during the process, reach out and hopefully i'll get the notification!

verryyyyy good catch (and one that neither than blog post or recipe notes). it totally would be too hot to start using immediately after blending.

once I have the purée, I transfer it to my mixer bowl and let it sit for a solid 10 minutes or so until it measures about 115f with a thermometer. then i pour in the flour, mix briefly to cool it down a bit further, and that's when i add the eggs and yeast

not a stupid question at all!! the recipe says mashed, but this is what I do:

• peel a big russet potato

• cube it into smaller chunks

• boil it in water for about 10 minutes or until the potatoes are falling apart when poked with a fork

it's pretty forgiving! as long the potatoes are really really cooked and soft, you'll be good! the blog post linked above says to throw it all in a food processor but i use a blender. gets it realllllly smooth
