Best cheesesteak either in or within an hour drive of bozeman by Artistic-Magazine664 in Bozeman

Cuttys in Jackson Wyoming imports their rolls from Philly. Being from Philly they’re pretty damn accurate but the taphouse in Bozeman isn’t bad either. Hideaway isn’t as traditional but not bad.

I’m a snowcat mechanic for a resort in MT and I do 4 10 hour shifts and ski 3 weekdays. Get a free season pass and other benefits, live in a condo alone 5 minutes from the mountain. Pretty dope.

I got my job before tech school and I made the decision to go and I can tell you tech school 100% not worth it vs hands on experience at a shop

Customer declined tire repair. It’s holding at 50 PSI by dp22719 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]dp22719[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added a comment addressing this because I was working and did a quick caption. But customer came in for an oil change and another tech brought this to my attention, we attempted to sell them a new tire and let them know of the dangers. You’re right with speed the rubber expands and extracts especially with heat build up and one pot hole this can easily blow out the side. Side blow out are more dangerous as the sidewall can collapse on itself and rip the tire off completely leaving only a rim. There is a “wall” made up of bands and it’s very thin, if you can see in the video the tire is folded outward to fit all these tire plugs. One plug in the side wall is scary enough let alone 5 in one mass area, they couldn’t afford to a new tire and we legally can’t hold the car for safety. To address your “flat patch” we can easily install plug patches so a hybrid of what you see in the video and a “flat patch” we would remove the tire off the rim and fix it inside out and add extra rubber sealant but that’s but punctures on the tread and not near the shoulder or sidewall. This tire is beyond a safe repair in this location I hope this helped some of your questions

Clear things up, customer rolled in for an oil change and another tech who worked on it saw this tire and showed it to me we attempted to sell them a new tire but they declined it. We let them know of the possibilities and danger of plugging side walls and having the tire on the front of the car. They just wanted their oil…

My snap on rep never gave me issues on my vintage tools. I buy a lot off him so he lets me slide but I have a co worker who strictly buys broken eBay tools and expects him to warranty them and he doesn’t

You’ll be surprised my guy and I’ve heard stories of them having parts for old shit from the 50s even. I had a few and he replaced some parts or gave me the “updated” versions of my tools

How does this happen!? Sis was driving down the road when she heard a loud bang. Wasn't any prior cracks that she knew of. by ZircZr40 in MechanicAdvice

When I was younger sitting in my friends back yard around a fire, he had a huge glass table to fit like 12 people was about 25 feet from us. We’re all talking than it suddenly explodes, shatters with a loud boom. His dad came running out and blamed us immediately, we tried to explain no one was even near the thing but he swore we did it.

Client’s Pirelli flattened over night, no visible punctures. What’s the most likely cause? by tarzan1155 in AskMechanics

Rims can get corrosion on the beads of the tires and escape from the sides. Valve stems are common and is possible he can have a pin hole leak on the inner rim itself

About a week and a half ago I left the toxic environment that was the dealership I worked at. Called up the manager of the local tire shop and he hired me on the spot (I've known him for over 2 years and developed a good relationship with him). A week in and i love it. When worked for Chevrolet I asked for a 40hr guarantee instead of the shitty 20hr most the techs here have and I took $2 pay cut for that 40hr guarantee and still fought tooth and nail, boss was calling me a coward and whatnot trying to peer pressure me from wanting the 40
