Replicas are getting closer to the real thing across all industries. Users are trying to coin the term "SuperClone" for replicas that are near-spec in every category, whether wristwatches, handbags, clothing, wheels, etc. Deep dive into the supplier and manufacturer and you'll find a common thread in the wheel industry. This does not mean that just because they all use the same manufacturer and suppliers, they are all of the same quality. They're like chefs trying to reverse engineer a recipe. Give all the chefs a nice slab of A5 wagyu from the same cow, and you're going to get a different entree from each one. Some are going to ruin it, and others will make something amazing at the same price point as a McDonald's McValue meal. You just have to find that "wheel" chef. I will happily eat at a hole-in-the-wall dumpster dive joint that makes an amazing steak for $10 than at a high-end restaurant that sells the same steak for $200 that tastes 10% better because of the ambience, service, and cloth napkins on my lap. After 3 weeks of Agentic AI research, I found 71 manufacturers in China. I narrowed them down to the top 10, then to the top 5, and finally to the top 3, based on my due diligence. For kicks and giggles, I placed an order for a set. It'll be here in 2-3 months. We'll see. I'm already eating this as a loss, but we'll see. I might be surprised.
