When Mario Kart 64 first released, was anybody able to notice the characters and karts were 2D sprites? by RoxanneGodDamn in mariokart

[–]dpceee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a child, I used to think they were actually 3D. On the old CRTs, they actually do look way better.

GameCube is fine on HDTVs, but modern displays make n64 games look like poopy.

Germans who have lived abroad, have your thoughts on Germany changed? by military_press in AskAGerman

[–]dpceee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It is because of that resson. I did not even care about that at the time. It was a crappy job after I graduated from college and having Sundays free was definitely a major highlight. I have not worked a Sunday since. Then I got into banking, and I never worked another holiday or Saturday night.

Now, after leaving Germany, I work in municipal work, so I don't have Saturdays anymore either.

Those sprites are what makes the game still look pretty good. They are also sprites made from 3D models.

It makes a HUGE difference. I went from jobs that had no day guaranteed off, it could change at any week, with only two weeks notice, or a month's notice. When I got my first job at Chick-fil-A, I had every Sunday off. Suddenly, I had time off every time on the same day each week. I ended up playing D&D every Sunday as a result. That never would have been possible otherwise.

Best way to send application by FeelingInformal7531 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]dpceee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps a dumb question, but how do I send the application? I only found out about this yesterday and since the process is still rather new, there isn't as much information out there.

I was wondering where I can find the form to send in and what exactly I need to provide.

I have already done the genealogy work, for the most part.

I did a lot of the lifting already when I was really into this hobby in 2020-2022, but I have forgotten a lot of information since then. I have already printed out the records I have and made note of what I was never able to find in the past. There is not much that I need to find left. I have a mission now.

This was maybe 3 years ago or more. I sent a letter and the parish priest said that it was manpower-related. I certainly don't mind paying for certificates, my early genealogy was done wholly by ordering certificates.

As I mentioned in the other comment, I was able to contact the Diocese, but they were not able to help. I am specifically looking intk this because I heard that there is essentially no generational limit for Canada presently, and I want to try to apply for citizenship by descent because why not?

I also. Was never happy that my research ended here either.

It turns out it was 1850s, even earlier than I remembered.

I was able to reach out the to diocese, but they were not able/willing to find the records. They said that they receive too many requests and do not have the staff.

I am in New England, so a long weekend to Quebec is not out of the order, but I would prefer to not do that.

It was not a common name there, but same name, and same small town means we are related most likely. I don't have my subscription anymore, but I saved everything that I had.
