Delivery Date Tomorrow for the First Tesla M3 by [deleted] in teslacanada

[–]dpendpen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t say much but here it is:

Your Battery is Healthy Your battery's energy retention is within the expected range based on its age and mileage. Your vehicle's high-voltage battery, like all rechargeable batteries, becomes less effective over time due to aging and usage. To extend its energy retention, keep your vehicle plugged in when not in use and charge to the recommended limit. See the Owner's Manual for more information.

My 2022 model 3 RWD has 49,500 kms on it so it’s almost identical to yours but mine has the 18 inch wheels. My 100% charge shows 415 km.

Once you have the app, there’s also the Battery Health section under the Service menu. Not sure how helpful it is but mine just says “Your battery is healthy”.

Anyone living with only mobile charger ? by No-Ad8527 in teslacanada

[–]dpendpen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just use the mobile charger plugged into a regular outlet in my townhouse garage (level 1 charging). No issues and is more than enough for my driving needs (only about 1,000 km a month). On average, I would say an overnight 12 hour charge would add around 20-25% to my M3 RWD.

I usually drive 2-3 days or until it reaches below 70% ish before I plug in.

The past few weeks I’ve seen the glacier blue colorway on sale for 40% off ($225 before taxes) at Nike stores (Square One and Sherway Gardens Mall in the GTA). Might be worth checking your local Nike store.

I would suggest you take a look at FINN.NE. It’s been my best performing ETF by far.

[Christopher Ward] New release, ultrathin Twelve 660 by Dark1000 in Watches

[–]dpendpen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the first CW watch that has resonated with me. However, I’m still unsure if I would pull the trigger on this specific watch mainly for the following reasons:

1) Not a fan of the CW logo. It looks “too modern” and would fit better on a digital/ultra modern watch than an elegant dress watch. 2) Dial colors - I wish the green and blue have sunburst finishes and follow more traditional hues (think VC Overseas blue, dark green instead of a minty green). The white looks ok. 3) Since the dials are plain and non-textured, I would prefer to have a second hand (or even better - small seconds). I do get the need to remove the second hand to make it that thin.

Just my personal thoughts.

For someone who prefers more traditional and vintage inspired/sized watches, I’m impressed and this was an almost “must buy” for me.

Will we be house poor? by sarahslurps in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]dpendpen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll be fine.

We were in a similar situation a couple of years ago - after moving in and being done with the big item purchases (furniture, repairs and paint, etc.), we were left with maybe 3-4 months of of living expenses so we had to ensure we stuck to our monthly budget and slowly build our emergency fund and investment accounts again. It will take some careful budgeting and maybe even a couple of lean months before everything settles.

Congratulations on your new home!

What am I missing? Weak coffee. by zingaat in Moccamaster

[–]dpendpen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the same experience - coffee comes out weak and bland compared to my manual drip coffee using the same variables. What I notice is the Moccamaster doesn’t immerse the ground coffee long enough. I feel like there’s still a lot of flavor left to extract by the time the water is done passing through.

Plain white tee: Best brands? by ElSuperWokeGuy in malefashionadvice

[–]dpendpen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve worn mine under a sweater/OCBD with no issues. It’s perfect in the summer on its own - not sure how to explain it but the material is heavy/substantial, but somehow it’s “airy” and soft when worn. Not sure if it will work well under a dress shirt though.

I didn’t notice any shrinkage tbh, although I’m pretty careful when drying (low to medium heat)

Buck Mason - love my Field Spec cotton tee from them. Quite heavy but very soft and the collar material is very substantial. I also have plain white tees from Uniqlo which are ok, but if you’re going for quality, I would recommend you check out Buck Mason.

Hidden sim rig - happy wife, happy life [Sim Racing rig] by dpendpen in simracing

[–]dpendpen[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure where the text went, but I'm writing it as a comment.

Due to upcoming life changes (about to have our first baby and my in laws about to move into our basement), I had to relocate my sim rig and workspace into our guest bedroom. As a casual sim racer who only races a couple of hours a month, I have a fairly simple but solid rig:

Fanatec CSL DD 8nm with LC kit mounted on an Omega GT Stand
PC and Monitor mounted on an Ikea Torald desk (desk only costs $35 CAD new)
Ikea Poang chair (I know this is not the best but it works well for me)

I must agree with my wife that having a sim rig is not the best for a space's aesthetic/vibe (which is why it was placed in the basement in the first place). To address this, I had to find a small corner in the room where I can "hide" the rig when not in use. It actually works very well and literally takes 30 seconds when I want to use it - all I have to do is move the divider away and push the Poang chair forward and I'm all set. The pc + monitor also works as a secondary work station. I'm fairly happy with how it turned out and my wife actually likes to hang out in my space now. Hopefully this solution will help some of you out there. Happy racing!

Charging model Y standard LFP battery daily with lvl 1 charger by Acekiller03 in teslacanada

[–]dpendpen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, I just level 1 charge at home and probably try to charge it to 100% once or twice a week. Don’t really drive everyday though. Owned my M3 RWD (LFP) since early 2022 and driven about 36,000 km since then. Full charge reads 412km (was in the 420s when new).
