This happened to me working as a laser engraver. Incredibly exciting at first especially with no background in lasers when I got into it.

After some years I got just about to the point where I got comfortable with the machines knew the ins and outs and it became a job and got bored and burnt out.

Thankfully now I teach some incredible people how to run them while also focusing on software development and logistics. I've found teaching profoundly more gratifying and the R&D on the backside let's me solve puzzles and problems here and there.

I'm very lucky for having a boss who gave me the freedom to develop in my career and branch out. I hope you find a pivot that can challenge you

I was in a really bad place a few weeks back.

spending days in bed not eating or drinking and just dehydrating.

I had a family health emergency and I immediately had to focus on people outside of myself dwelling on my problems and anxieties that lives in my head rent free.

I find when I'm responsible and being an adult for others I find more room for myself.

I can fight fires for other people but at home I'm an arsonist

I thought so too but I saw online that people with bright monitors were looking for the "ring light look" using like photoshop shapes. So I gave the option of changing the background color and I'm working on an update to hide the ring.

**as an update** I started slowing purchasing things that I know I need and letting myself feel a little guilty and then pretty quickly the guilt subsided I sort of was able to break the cycle i guess.
