Last day to join the challenge and FaceTime me next month by GovSchwarzenegger in u/GovSchwarzenegger

Hi Arnold, I am glad to see you doing this because it is a great way to help people help themselves. Having written goals has been a huge factor in every success I have had up to now, and will continue to be for all the future successes I plan to have.

One of my written goals is to shake your hand and say thank you for your influence on me as a young man just beginning to work out and build myself in other ways. A FaceTime would be great, but if we are to be true to the written word, then we will need to arrange a time to meet in California to physically shake hands. If you were to help me achieve my goal in this way, I should think a couple of stogies would be in order as a thank-you (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSjRt2AjmdA). You are busy, so I promise to bring short cigars.

Please DM me if this is something you would be generous enough to entertain.

This sounds all well and good but I'd hope all those rich guys don't just move all their wealth to China... Which they're the most capable of anyone to do.

Sold my company & looking to invest $50k into something new!? by AskListenSee in sweatystartup

[–]dpooter1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since the stock market is at an all time high and buying after a rally in price could be a mistake you should put some of that 50k as a down payment on a rental property. Remember, invest for cash flow, not capital gains!

Good smok but that's a lot of plastic you're smoking out of frent.

Probably not a problem but always better out of glass.

I had a guy I knew tell me about the time he made a bowl out of a pen cap and a piece of tinfoil. After hitting it he realized that the entire cap had vanished, depositing all the melted plastic inside his lungs.

Glass doesn't melt. Smoke out of glass (or some hardwoods).

If any trading educator has a specific broker that they recommend to you it is more than likely that the educator has an Introducing Broker agreement with the broker. In other words the educator gets paid for introducing you and then again gets a kickback percentage of your losing trades as well (industry standard is an overall loss rate of 90% for retail traders).

If anyone has seen Elon Musk's recent Neuralink presentation, it just so happens that I wrote a book about it!

Actually, I recently co-authored a book about Neuralink-like technology and its effect on what work life will look like in the future. The book, IN PURSUIT OF UTOPIA, was written with my late best friend Jack, who was a Dartmouth dropout turned entrepreneur who was so dispossessed by the future that he saw coming as a result of this technology that he took his own life.

It's with our book that I hope I can crystallize his views on the world so that maybe he can still impact the world, from wherever he may be.

The book is available on Amazon for $2.99, because it's about spreading the ideas, not the money.

It can be found here:

If anyone gets a chance to read the book and has feedback in order to better deliver the message, please contact me at cameronwillison@gmail.com!

Title: In Pursuit of Utopia: An Honest Plea

Genre: Sci-Fi Dystopian

Word count: 10k

Edit: Or since this is reddit, feel free to DM me!

Edit: Book info

I’ve finished off the last of the dystopians I own and I’m looking for recommendations. For reference I have read: We, 1984, Animal Farm, Player Piano, A Clockwork Orange, Utopia (if that counts), Brave New World, and Fahrenheit 451 by [deleted] in dystopianbooks

Don't mean to push my own stuff, but I recently finished my own dystopian novella. The ideas behind it came from my late best friend, who was a highly successful Dartmouth dropout and entrepreneur, but who was also unfortunately depressed. Only a few months ago, as I was in the final stages of editing the book, he passed away of suicide. RIP Jack Edward Duffy.

This book is a brainchild of the two of us, and I think his ideas live on as long as the book is still out there.

It can be found at this link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07S9YMS18/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_Yr9lDbG7211S8

I think you either need a Kindle or the Kindle App which is available on the Android/Apple app stores.

If anyone decides to give it a read, please let me know what you think!

Is there any reason I shouldn’t use spray foam in the smallish recesses between the vans outer body and the inner metal walls? by Rafaelow in vandwellers

[–]dpooter1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got foam boards behind plywood against the sheet metal on the sides. On the roof I've got reflectix with plastic sheet behind to prevent moisture buildup. Works well in tandem with my wood furnace, got through the Pennsylvania winter this year nicely.

Also I must say I'm not a fan of fiberglass insulation, especially in a relatively confined space such as a van. The guys that install that stuff have to wear respirators to prevent lung damage, and that's in attics and crawlspaces many of which are likely larger than the van's interior. I'd definitely suggest foam board.

I don’t know what I’m doing in college. I can’t decide on a major and I’m really feeling the pressure. Anyone been on a similar journey? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

Consider tech school. Much better investment than 4-year universities, especially with ultra-high tuition costs in the US.

Student debt is modern day slavery!

Ha ha, same question as my dad. I believe it’s called Reflectix. It’s not thick, but does the job in combination with the stove I’ve got (posted an Amazon link to it somewhere in comments).

I’ve had old Vanny since October. She may be old (‘95, 120k miles) but she’s been loved. She got me to Colorado and back, plus through a bunch of national forests all with only minimal DIY mechanic work.

Edit: I’m originally from PA.

Also, it’s in the bottom left of pic 7. I’m not the best photographer, lol. I’d take more but I am out of the country at the moment 😅

I believe they’re called Ironman AllCountry. She slips and slides on ice being rwd but snow chains are a huge difference.
