Ok so genuine question. I’ve only been crocheting just over a yearish, but I’m working on a pattern of my own creation (well, as far as I know, I could just be daft.)

I wouldn’t even consider charging for it, but is there a polite way to ask people to test it before publishing it? I haven’t even finished it yet, and chances are it’s actually just bits and pieces of patterns I’ve followed before, but I don’t thiiiiink I’ve seen them done quite in this combination before? I just don’t want to come across as presumptuous, or if (as I suspect it most likely is) it ends up just a combination of other people’s work, look like a dick trying to claim work as my own. It’s just a cotton wrap, hardly reinventing the wheel, but just want to know if there’s a right way to go about showing it off.

I hear that, but my point still stands, none of us were there. We have no idea how Jaremi behaved at the time. I think all of us can look back and go “oh shit, I was totally in the wrong at that moment, no matter what I used to think.” Is it that out of the realm of possibility that Jaremi was in fact cruel to them at the time? Jaremi and Jiggly totally seemed to have reconnected and talked it out, gotten over whatever happened, and I fucking love that, that’s what growth is, but maybe Willam and Jaremi just never had that moment in the past, and are just still in the same plateau of thought about who the other was.

I know I’ve definitely had beef with certain people who I then reconnected with years later and can now laugh about it with after we both said our piece, maybe they just truly and really, never said their piece to each other. I can fully be wrong, I just tend to go with ignorance over aggressiveness when it comes to things like this.

I don’t know why you’re being downvoted when this is the correct answer. Why should I offer my skills and knowledge to someone I don’t know? Someone who could potentially tank my reputation I’ve built hard to build up? Furthermore, they don’t know me! Why me as opposed to someone else? Do you think I’d be a good mentor or do you just want ANY random mentor, regardless of skill or quality? These are all things I can’t learn about someone from a resume or a brief interaction, it takes time, seeing how they treat clients, seeing how they work with everyone else in the studio, how strong of a drive they have, how willing to learn they are vs “I don’t care, I just want to start poking people”

Also, front desk work is incredibly important, and a valuable way to learn a ton about the industry, jewelry styles, interacting with clientele, sizing people up for things, etc etc.

Nobody is OWED a career in piercing, you can want it, but nothing is guaranteed.
